“Great food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

walking past you probably would not give this barge a second look, it looks untidy and a little scruffy, but the guy from our apartment had recommended the food, and he wasn't wrong, very nice,But go early this place gets busy & noisy in the evenings, its popular with locals, its like and feels like an old English pub on a barge.

“great - but don't eat there unless you are a cheeze-fetishist”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

Fantasic venue - great views in good and bad weather, friend staff and a big selection of very well served beers.

However, the menu is cheeze-obsessed! I'm cheeze-phobic and to find *every* pie involving cheeze (and many other menu items esp. on tapas night) is a little disappointing.

Please cater for dairy-haters!

“Scenic Pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012

We much enjoyed our meal on the river. There was plenty of river traffic as the harbor festival was upcoming. The food seemed bigger on presentation than quality with the presentation better than the actual food. Nice selection of beers and ciders. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

“Tremendous setting & very original location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

Interesting and quirky location right on the floating harbour. Plenty of covered and open accommodation. Reasonable prices but very much "pub grub" rather than "haute cuisine". But I would gladly go back. Friendly staff.

“Great setting, good beer, food looked average.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2012

Another venue on my Bristol beer tour and even on a filthy wet day the Grain Barge is a welcoming establishment with great views. Beer was decent too and the food whilst in good portions looked "average" pub fare (not a criticism, nothing wrong with bog standard grub with beer).
