£12.95 to view a ship is over the top, let alone the minimum £3 to park. A £1 refund on the parking is NOT an incentive.

Thanks for your review.

We’re sorry to hear that you didn't take the opportunity to discover everything on offer here at Brunel’s ss Great Britain, as a standard visit tends to take between 1-3 hours.

During your visit you can descend beneath the ship under the glass ‘sea’ and into the Dry Dock, you can visit the Dockyard Museum, climb aboard and travel back in time inside the ship to discover how passengers would have travelled when she was a working vessel.

Thanks also for your feedback on the price of entry - all tickets include unlimited free return visits for a year (under 5's are free, concessions and family discounted tickets are also available). Brunel's ss Great Britain is an independent visitor attraction which relies heavily on admissions to conserve the ship for people to enjoy. The Trust is also a registered charity.

It is also possible to view certain artefacts from our archive, including original Brunel sketchbooks and drawings, with a visit to the Brunel Institute which offers completely free entry to visitors (identification required).

We hope to be able to welcome you back soon!

“A "must do" in Bristol.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013 via mobile

The entrance fee may seem high at first but when you tour the ship and see what has been achieved , what has to be done to maintain it and what is still to be done, as well as giving a year's entry, it means the attraction is very good value for money.
To be able to see the ship's hull from below is incredible and I'm sure Brunel would approve of the engineering involved. The interior of the ship doesn't disappoint , from the extremely cramped conditions of steerage, to the luxury of first class and don't miss the talking toilet.
The museum is interesting and gives a good background to the ship and how innovative it was.

“£12.95 is excellent value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013

I think the entrance fee is just fine to visit a wonderful ship, sensitively presented. Unlike so may other attractions, you are free to wander at your own pace, the audio guide is free and excellent, and the ship is well presented - the engine is particularly impressive. The cafe is nice - the cake was excellent, and like other reviewers - I recommend a water taxi from millennium square. Highly recommended.

“Disappointingly overpriced.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

Were excited to visit this attraction as it looks so impressive from the outside. Best recommendation is to stay outside and just take a stroll along the dock. Inside it's the usual tourist nauticalia for sale with tearoom opposite - also overpriced. Pay £3 to park in the car park and a whopping £12.95 per person entry. Nearly £30 for 2 people to just look at a boat? That's really taking the Kingdom out of Isambard Brunel :-/
