“fantastic place to stay”

This was the best guesthouse I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The hospitality, the rooms with their soft, clean bedding, the food, all were first class. The location couldn't have been better for shopping, site seeing, theatre, restaurants and nightlife but was so quiet a mouse could have slept there. We were daughter 21, mother 51 and grandmother 72 and none of us could fault the Brooks Guesthouse.

The rooms were fab, spacious and nicely decorated. Staff are friendly, polite and accommodating. This is a lovely hotel, 5 mins walk from the harbourside and hippodrome. Thanks to Thomas and all the staff (chef as well for delicious eggs Florentine!) for making our weekend in Bristol very pleasant indeed

Stayed Here for our anniversary, perfectly located, couldnt of been better, Thomas on front desk was a joy to deal with and so very helpful, rooms were lovely and bright with fab shutters to close at night, we had no problem at all with noise and we stayed on a Friday night! Everything from start to finish was great, lovely honesty ba for a late night whiskey, breakfast filled us up for the day, although I made sure I had room for lunch which we bought from the St Nicholas Market right opposite. All in all Fantastic day and night in Bristol. Will deffo be back.. Thanks x

Reluctant to give such a glowing review as I probably won't get booked in again but here goes. Great hotel in the centre of Bristol. Welcoming staff, spotlessly clean rooms and fantastic breakfast. Rooms are small but more than adequate. Location is great but due to the central location maybe not for the light sleepers. Will definitely be back.

A hidden gem in the heart of Old Bristol! The welcome from Agnes the receptionist couldn't have been warmer and more friendly. We were in a twin room on the 3rd floor, it was beautifully clean and well presented, with a large spotless bathroom. The beds were comfy and the room was lovely and quiet.

Everywhere is nicely decorated - even the lift has wallpaper which makes it look like a library! It was very useful to have a key and be able to let ourselves in when we got back late at night. The night porter was also very polite and friendly.

The breakfast, mmmmm, delicious! We were served as soon as we sat down, to order the tea and toast. I had the Eggs Florentine from the specials menu, and the eggs were beautifully poached. My friend had the Full English and it looked very inviting.

We left our cases with Agnes while we went out shopping at St Nicolas Market, which is directly opposite and very convenient. The guesthouse is also convenient for the O2 Stadium, the Hippodrome and Bristol Temple Meads Station. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Brooks Guesthouse to anyone!

I booked this hotel for a Sunday night stay, double room with breakfast. I asked for a quiet location based on some of the reviews.

The guest house is by St Nicholas market, behind the Exchange and is very central. The gates were locked when we arrived but we had been assured the night porter would be in attendance. What a wonderful welcome. He showed us in, pointed out the kitchen/dining/rest area/free wifi/internet. There is an honesty bar with a small selection of alcohol where guests are trusted to write down their room numbers and what they had.

Our room, although small, was spotless. There are no wardrobes only hooks and hangers. Lovely large shower. Tea and coffee making facilities. The bed felt like we were being hugged. We had no view other than 3 brick walls (a) who wants to look out of a window in November and (b) this was one of the quiet rooms we asked for.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.

Lovely lady on reception on the way out who looked after our bag while we spent the day in Bristol.

We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room (no view) ask for room 9 or 19.

My twin room was spotless and well furnished albeit a bit small and with a rather small window. I thought the location was good and the staff polite and efficient. I didn't try the breakfast as I had a breakfast appointment elsewhere. I would stay again.
