Have stayed a number of times and always enjoyed the atmosphere and laid back seating areas. Rooms are adequate, clean and tidy. Very close to Quayside and city centre. Lovely buffet breakfast. Parking is additional to the room fee but is located beneath the hotel.

5 stars for this Marriott. Located in the centre of Bristol, just a few minutes walk to the waterfront, right on Park Street / College Green, and close to restaurants and bars. The hotel is very well appointed, rooms comfortable and clean (we asked for a quiet room and were given a lovely room on the Mezzanine floor overlooking a small courtyard - perfect!), The experience began with a complimentary glass of wine while we were checking in! The pool is a decent size (for a hotel pool), with adjoining steam room and sauna. The staff were excellent and the included breakfast first class, served until 11 AM. We will be back soon!

Room Tip: Back of the hotel is away from the busy night-life of Park Street,

Very much the typical English seaside Grand/Royal hotel you'd see in an episode of Miss Marple. Although this place is right next to the docks and plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants, it's relatively quiet, especially on the courtyard side of the building. Staff were friendly. My room was spotless although it did smell faintly of old pipe smoke from days gone by. Nothing threadbare but it all felt just slightly tired. If you can get a good rate, it's way ahead of the other hotels in the area.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms: 4th floor and courtyard-facing

We stayed Friday and Saturday night in room 1402. A lovely corner room with quirky shapes and great views. You are in the city centre, near the waterfront, so do expect a bit of late night news, but it wasn't that bad and I am a very light sleeper.
Staff brilliant as they generally are in Marriott Hotels - Daisy our breakfast waitress was lovely. Found the hotel no problem. Easy walk into Sheffield, and handy for early service at Cathedral.

Thank you for your comments, it was great to see you enjoyed staying in one of our suites and that you found your trip to Bristol enjoyable, albeit a little noisy at night in the City.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. it was a special weekend because I had lived in Bristol as an impoverished youngster and was now returning to do all the things I couldn't afford to do then!

The location of the hotel is first rate, right at the bottom of Park Street where we spent a lovely morning meandering and visiting the art gallery etc.. it is on College Green where we sat in the sunshine, next to the cathedral which was beautiful and right by the waterfront where we hung out with all the cool people. Millenium Square was lovely, and there is so much to see and do.

The hotel itself was very comfortable. The bed was huge, numerous fluffy pillows and the room was well kitted out. Extra towels arrived quickly.

If I have a small gripe it was that the intermittent sounds of young people enjoying themselves could be heard until the wee small hours. However, we were on the third floor and although I was aware of it, I slept very well but heard if I happened to wake up. I wouldn't say that it bothered me unduly.

Now for the best bits;

The drawing room and bar are have lovely sofa's in which you could sink to read your book.... and I did!

The spa was lovely, I had the pool to myself on Sunday morning. It is a bit chilly in the water until you get going though! The Jacuzzi was spacious and soothing.

The staff were without exception friendly, polite and went out of their way to make us feel at home. One terrific chap noticed that the lights in the drawing room had been dimmed, to create a romantic ambiance, but that I was reading in semi-darkness so came over to =ask if he could put the pights up a touch for me, which he did.

The next day he asked me how my book was.... it is these little touches that make you feel that you are not just a number and that matters no matter how much we know we are all just another hotel guest.

Breakfast was plentiful and there was a great variety.

I would definitely go back again and it was worth the 25 year wait!!

Room Tip: The executive rooms on the third floor are really lovely! Rooms facing College Green will be quieter...
