Let's make some bullet points for you guys,
good:
*location *transport to town (bus stop just outside) *tesco near *a few good places to eat *super clean room & bathroom *kettle, coffee & tea *room big enough

bad: *no internet upstairs (we had room 16) *really don't bother with breakfast unless you like tesco type packaging food *noisy *not enough staff around to help you check out *they take a payment upfront which we didn't know until check out, we were handed a payment receipt *hard mattress *cleaning lady coming early and knocking to the door when we were not ready

overall: good value for money but next time we will stay somewhere else

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night at the weekend. It was the most reasonable we could find that wasn't miles out of the city. It was still a mile or two from the center but was on quite a busy road so the bus stop was just down the road and buses went frequently, there was also free parking although not many spaces and full the night we stayed. Were greeting by a friendly lady who checked us in promptly, had a room on top floor facing the road which I thought may be noisy but had no problems. It is a budget place so we got what we expected, think the photos on the website are shot very well, but was clean and had everything required although shower was quite bad, having a bath made up for this, and bed was a tad hard. Was a reasonable selection at breakfast, I only had pastries which weren't the greatest, but sufficient. Free WiFi was a plus as were local shops.

My husband and I stayed at the Malago for a couple of nights, on arrival we had a nice greeting from a friendly receptionist, our room was clean and nicely furnished, couldn't quite see what was 'luxury' about the bathroom but was modern and clean and apparently toiletries were available on request. Breakfast was good with a selection of cold meat, cheese, boiled eggs and tomatoes plus the usual cereals, toast etc.Free WiFi is always a bonus and there is also free parking. Would stay again if in the area.

I've stayed a few times in Bristol but usually either in the Travelodge or Ibis near Temple Meads station. However, I needed to be further south in the city this time so saw the Malago was close to where I wanted to be.

Even though it is on a main road (and my room was at the front of the building), I had no problems getting a good night's sleep (although I can sleep through most things).

Couldn't fault the place. Paid for a deluxe single room. Bed was comfortable, freeview TV, bath and shower in the bathroom, free and reliable Wifi and a good quality continental breakfast. There is a cash machine inside the hotel and even though it was out of order on my visit, there are at least 2 or 3 on the main road within walking distance of the B&B, as well as numerous convenience stores (including a Tesco Express) and at least a dozen takeaways and restaurants.

Would definitely stay here again.

Sorry this B+B is not what it seems. In a run down area on a busy road. Parking was very weird, hardly any room to swing a cat in the car park, don't get there late or you wont park. Room was small and a little too cosy. Décor was ok small double bed ( which had a very hard mattress) one side next to the wall and window, (which didn't keep the noise out). Breakfast was ok nothing too special. The biggest problem was the other guests we were kept up most of the night by a couple of people who insisted on shouting and arguing, one locked themselves out and preceded to kick the door and shout until someone opened it. We were unaware there was any staff around as there was a number to ring in case of emergencies, but there was and they were unable to quieten them. Upon complaining in the morning we were given just a sorry. Didn't feel this was good enough considering we only had one hours sleep!!!!!!

Room Tip: Try to get one at the back it may be quieter , although we requested this it didn't happen

A great place to stay worth every penny. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. My only complaint would be the sign outside says fully licensed bar but in fact there was no bar &they didn't sell alcohol.

My sister and I stayed just one night at the Malago ,Chosen because of its proximity to The Tobacco Factory, as we were in Bristol to see a play.
We found everything to be A1,The car park did not get full (on a Fri) .The staff were friendly and courteous.
We had booked a twin room, and were given a spacious room on the ground floor, which was suitable for the disabled. The room and and bathroom were spotless, and the beds very comfortable. We were not troubled by noise, even though we were on the ground floor in the front of the building.
Breakfast was continental, in a nice light room, the selection to choose from was extremely good.
There is a cash machine in reception ,also maps and information.
I would guess it would take 20 mins to walk to waterside, but there is a bus stop opposite with frequent service.
I would definitely use the Malago again,It was even cheaper than yha for a twin room ,with breakfast as well!!!

Room Tip: Cannot speak about other rooms, but as there is no lift maybe the lower floor
