Spent a very comfortable night at The Bristol again whilst staying over in Bristol on 2/4/2013. Clean decent sized room, with view of marina. Quiet yet close the city centre. Delightful simple breakfast and pleasant staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back overlooking the marina

My wife and I got a special deal for a two night stay in a deluxe room which turned out to be pretty small and with a tiny bathroom. Worst though was the view. Our room faced into a central well so our predominant view was the strange, container-like rooms on the other side of the well. Luckily we were on the top floor so if we raised our eyes, we could see Bristol Cathedral and the city rising up the hillside. If you had a lower-floor room facing the well, your view would be depressing. Our bed was very soft which left me with a bad back, and the duvet was far too heavy - I was sweltering and even my wife, who likes being warm in bed, found it too much. Food in the restaurant was okay though my salmon starter was far too much for a starter and I really needed a vegetable side dish for my main even though it appeared from the menu to come with some vegetables. The wines were good, though. Breakfast was fine in terms of choice though on the first morning, my coffee and my wife's tea were lukewarm. The hotel used to be a Jury's Inn but it is now trying to be much more upmarket and it isn't quite succeeding. Small thing, but why would an upmarket hotel have such cheap loo roll?! We still enjoyed our stay as Bristol is such a great city to visit, but the hotel was not the highlight of our trip.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside room looking over the harbour and high up

We planned to stay here for 1 night on a Saturday. On arrival the staff were friendly and polite but once we got to the 'superior' room we were surprised at how small it was. The room was also very hot with no option to control the radiator heat for the room. We were on the 2nd floor on the corner of the harbour: which at first seemed lovely, but by night time was awful! The noise from the neighboroughing bars and clubs were soo loud that we could hear it very loudly over the tv. We could hear every noise from the street including several loud chants by hen and stag dos! Even with the window completely shut we could hear every noise and it was soo loud that we decided not to stay the night and return home around midnight! A disappointing end to a lovely day!

Room Tip: Choose a room that is very high up and not facing the noisy harbour.

Booked this hotel as a midweek 2 night break bed breakfast and evening meal on first night. On Check-in staff are friendly and helpful very smooth and quick check-in. We was on 6th floor very clean and spacious room, complementary Wi-Fi too. Booked the evening meal for 8pm the restuarant staff are very professional, friendly and you do not feel rushed. Breakfast is buffet style with a vaired choice of either full English to yoghurt continental style.
We really enjoyed this hotel and would not hesitate to return when looking for a 2 day break again. Very clean hotel.

Dear June40,

We are glad you enjoyed your two day break with us and in particular our sixth floor rooms and free wifi,

We have some excellent packages on our website, our most recent one being the bubbles and berries package which is going down very well and at a very reasonable rate for a two night stay.

We hope to welcome you back to the hotel in the not too distant future,

Sincerely

The best thing about this hotel is the service. I had to change my booking twice at the last minute due to illness and the hotel changed both bookings without complaint, they were incredibly helpful and very caring.

Upon arrival, the reception team were just lovely. One staff member in particular Delilia was so helpful throughout my whole stay and even gave me late checkout without any extra expense. I think london hotels could take a tip from the staff from The Bristol as it's has friendliest and upmost professional service I've come across in the UK so far.

The room (46 i think) was wonderfully spacious but bathroom was slightly under par, definitely too small.

All in all a beautifully run hotel with some of the finest staff i've come across in the UK!
