My partner and I have been going to the Raj for 7 years or so now, and it has never been a bad decision. The food is good, tasty curries that are not oily or crudely flavoured or coloured. The staff seem to have worked there for most of the time we have been going - they are all friendly and cheerful and give the impression they are proud of their restaurant - and so they should be.

meal was excellent - but king prawn madras - WOW ! That was hot with spices !! But very tasty. The popadoms were warm which was nice and the variety of pickles very good

A group of 15 of us went to this restaurant as part of a Stag Do. We booked a table which was definately a good idea as it was starting to get very busy around 19:30 on a Saturday.

We went straight to main courses and ordered some Onion Bhajis and Naan bread to go with them. I have to say the food was excellent, everyone in the group was very impressed and we all eat a lot of curry! The service was also very good and we didn't have to wait long for food.

We were really disappointed with our visit. On arrival it was obvious the restaurant was busy, as its not very big, and we were asked to wait 20 minutes for a table. Eventually we were shown to a table that had been vacant since our arrival but for some reason they did not want us there. Then the table service was very slow and poor. I am unable to decide whether they were short of table staff or short of a chef but it wasnt very good. The food was fairly good when we got it but we wont be going back.
