As per title, not really cheap but considering the lay-out and being just off the city centre is very good.

Excellent displays, clean, tidy colourful and very informative. Staff are helpful as well.

Recommended.

We've brought out son - now 5 - about once or twice a year to the aquarium since it opened. It is a lovely aquarium, well kept and attractively laid out, but even with an inquisitive and engaged child we still went all the way round the entire thing twice and had lunch within an hour. This makes the entry price - £13 adult and £9 child - feel rather steep. Bristol zoo had a similar ticket price and will entertain us for anything between 3 and 6 hours depending on mood and stamina, and it had a lovely aquarium area. Disappointing.

We visited on 9th July, and at the time we were there, appeared to be at least 3 different groups of school children which let down the visit as it was near impossible to view some of the displays due to the shear number of school children surrounding the displays with what appeared a lack of control from either the teachers or aquarium staff accompanying them.
The displays we could see, were enjoyed by my 3 year old, although I feel £13 per adult entrance fee was too much, for what was available. The visit took just over 1 hour to walk around. I felt this to be poor value when this is compared to what much larger attractions in the area such as the Zoo charge, which is a much better day out,

Beautiful clean displays.

Great variety of habitats and tanks to see. The underwater tunnel and large tropical coral tank are my favourites.

Sadly the giant octopus tank has been replaced with a smaller octopus inhabitant but still well worth a look.

Fully accessible although some long sloping ramps if you are pushing a buggy or wheelchair.

Having been to other aquaria we were told not to expect too much. It was brilliant. For small children there were loads of fish at their level and nothing was too big or too demanding. We were tempted by a "Behind the scenes" trip but quickly decided it was for adults or older children.
Our grandson liked crabs and turtles as much as fish. Well worth the entrance fee.He had been twice before but still wanted to go again.
With so many eateries outside on the quay I wonder why they bother with a cafe.
