Had a brilliant time yesterday at ice skating with my granddaughter. The member of staff called David was very helpful in making sure my boots fitted correctly. Would recommend

We went ice skating for my daughter's birthday just after new year. The ice rink was too small for the number of people on it, and as the majority of people couldn't skate everybody basically just spent an hour shuffling around the outside of the rink, it looks like that was generally what happened because the edges of the ice were sloping downwards towards the outside floor which made it rather difficult for some to stay on their feet.

We did the rest of the park in less than an hour, there is a nice adventure park for older children (We didn't go in the toddler park) but it was looking a little tired, there were marks in the ground where equipment had been removed, and some of the equipment was taped off. The jumping pillow was fun for 10 minutes but take some spare socks - ours got very wet and very sandy which led to some tears from my son.

We didn't eat in the cafe because of the bad reviews I read before we arrived. We did consider it was but the limited menu, dirty floor and constant draught from the door was enough to put us off. There wasn't anywhere for us to sit really either, it's very small.

My biggest problem of the day came when we tried to leave. The car park is appalling. There didn't appear to be anybody controlling the car park at all, and so people were just dumping their cars wherever they fancied without a care for the other patrons who might not be able to move their car! There is an overflow car park but seeing as the entrance resembled a bog it was no wonder nobody wanted to park there. To leave the car park took what felt like a 500 point turn to get out of my "space", a lot of swearing, upset tired children and a vow from their parents to never return. Such a shame.

Been here less than 2 hours and wow what a waste of money, to think that we could have paid an extra £10 or so to go to Avon valley, wild place, cattle country etc this place is not worth the money at all. Really run down, in the craft hut mostly all the pens didn’t work, pencils needed sharpening, what’s the point it being open if nothing works. Will certainly not be returning.

Based on the previous few reviews I had been a little anxious about our visit to the park as I had booked to go before looking at Trip Advisor. Luckily we had a lovely day: wellies were a must for exploring the park but as it was a beautiful day we still used the adventure play area; the animals were varied, seemed well cared for and signs were informative; the ice skating was a real treat and we were pleased we had booked in advance to secure the sit-on aids for the children. The ice-skating was quite busy but really good value and we all enjoyed it. The most pleasant surprise was the cafe (given the previous reviews) - coffee and cakes when we arrived were excellent and service was quick. At lunchtime, although it was so busy people were waiting for tables, the staff were attentive and very tasty food arrived after a short wait. The cafe menu suited us (wraps with sweet potato fries, toasties, jacket potatoes, sausages rolls, huge cheese twists) and the children could get their choices straight away. Overall a good day out and we would go again.

A good place but the restaurant is awful.

No space to sit and terrible service.

'We can't legally heat a sausage roll' the girl behind the counter said to me....

Plan to bring your own food.
