We recently stayed at the hotel whilst visiting Bletchley Park. The staff were excellent, the food was top notch and the service was really really good. We also went back for afternoon tea which was equally good. Would definitely revisit and recommend. A particular mention should go to Darcie on reception as she is a great ambassador the hotel and was a pleasure to deal with.

Dear cjnuk,

Thank you for your kind review following your recent stay on our Bletchley Park Package.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed all of our facilities, your comments have been passed on to Darcie, who was very 'chuffed' to be singled out.

We all hope to have the pleasure in welcoming you back to The Woburn Hotel in the near future.

Kind regards

David

A perfect venue for an afternoon tea. The food was very good, lots of choice and one of the best anyone in the group had had. The staff were friendly and service excellent, with constant refills of milk and tea pots. Lots of places offer afternoon tea now and this was well within the price range on offer but the quality of food and service made it exceptional. We were of mixed ages including a baby, and high chair was provided.

My wife and I booked a deluxe room for our anniversary with Champagne Flowers and chocolates. Also reserved a table in Oliviers restaurant. On arrival we found we had been upgraded to a suite which was very nice. A card wishing an anniversary was also in the room. The meal was fantastic ,food excellent and after our meal a decorated plate with chocolate writing and some treats were brought out to our surprise. Lovely touch. Well worth the price. Woburn itself has some really nice shops and pub/bars.

I booked a afternoon tea for my daughter in law to be, her mum my mum and daughter as a little pre wedding treat. On arrival we were directed to our table, it was in the bar room. The table was nicely dressed but the chairs were high and the table was very low. I asked to move as some of the party have bad backs and due to the table being low was a problem. The staff were understanding and told us they would get a table for us in another room . Minutes after they told us that the table was ready. We were directed to 2 plastic tables I explained that we were here for afternoon tea and the table needed dressing but the waiter said the tables are wipeable and they don't have a table cloth on. I asked again for the table to be dressed he then went and got table cloths and dressed the table at this point I was getting annoyed as I had booked this a month ago . We then all sat down tea was served then our food arrived. I am Dairy free and I was disgusted to see only 2 dry pieces of plain sponge, two raspberries and a blue berry on a cocktail stick, and 2 rubbery scones. The sandwiches were ok slightly dry on the edges The other guests food was average .I was disappointed to say the least for a Hotel of this kind. Never to return.

Dear Mrs Chamberlain
Following my email on the 8th July, it was disappointing to read your review posted here on the 4th September. Our Repton Room tables which are a combination of wooded and glass tables are not normally dressed, but I am glad to read that a member of our team accommodate your request. We always wish for our guests to enjoy their experience with us hence our investigation, apology and recompense that was sent to you. It is still my hope that you will revisit Woburn once again. Kind regards Samantha Bertho, Marketing

We stayed in Thorney suite for one night, it is a duplex suite in the main courtyard at the entrance of the hotel, the back of the suite drops to road level and the front faces the entrance courtyard.
This suite was listed as dog friendly, but unfortunately we found it way too hot, and there is no air conditioning just a desk fan.
When putting the desk fan on, it became very noisy and rattled on the desk top all night, so we had an uncomfortable, noises night with very little sleep.
We were unable to open any windows in the downstairs bathroom and Lou ge area, as they back onto a patch of grass beside the road and would have been a security risk.
The suite is fairly tired overall ,and a huge kiln chimney in the lounge area is obtrusive and takes up a massive amount of space.
The lounge area is dark and uninviting.
The bathroom has a shower over the bath with a handheld shower attachment which sprays the windowsill and blind, so water everywhere.
The bathroom is reasonably large but badly designed.
The bedroom has a nice Hypnos king size bed, which would have been comfortable, had we not been kept awake all night by a noise fan.
I told reception on checking out about the very warm room and poor fan situation, and was told , we will mention it to housekeeping?
The food in the restaurant was very average, we had steak and chips, as a simple meal, the steak was ok, and that’s about it.
Breakfast was a very pedestrian buffet option, so we asked for fresh omelettes to be made, as eating off a hot buffet is not inviting.
The omelettes took well over 20 minutes to come, but when they did they were hot and tasty.
Overall this hotel is very average, with little to commend it.

Room tip: No air conditioning in the suites, in the courtyard, not sure about rooms in main building.

Dear LADYROWDON,

Thank you for your detailed review following your recent stay.

It is disappointing to read that we did not meet all of your expectations, however all your constructive feedback has been noted and shared with the team.

We will work harder to ensure we maintain the level of standards and service expected from us and often achieved if we refer to the many positive comments we have had over the years on this site.

Once again thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your review on this site.

Yours sincerely,

David Bouchet
