“Lovely visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

My wife and myself had a Groupon voucher from my son and his wife for wine tasting and meal. It was a lovely day and the wine and food was excellent. The vegetable garden was incredible, I don't think there is a vegetable that isn't grown there and so neat and perfectly set out. We chatted with the gardener and he is such a lovely bloke, he absolutely loves his job and we could have listened to him all day, if he had got the time. We bought some lettuce of him at the end of our stay and needless to say we bought a bottle of their lovely wine

“An Excellent Visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013

We had a really great visit. This, given the foul weather - wet & cold -, is a tribute to the staff, who were all excellent. The gardens weren't so impressive due to the poor weather we have had, but we'll return to see them in the summer - if we get one this year! The wine was at least as good as any English wine I have tasted - reminiscent of some of the better German whites. The food was exquisite: starters, mains, and desserts. Both the apple and pear liquors were excellent. I preferred one to the other, but can't remember which. Will just have to have one of each next time to clarify. This superb historic destination is definitely worth a trip.

“Excellent experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

Had a Groupon voucher for a 3 course lunch and wine tasting. It was a lovely day and we had a walk round the gardens before the wine tasting session. The lady who did the talk was extremely knowledgeable and amusing and she certainly made it interesting. There were 3 wines that were sampled - all excellent. This was then followed by a wonderful 3 course lunch. The pate was delicious - I had the special (bacon and mushroom tart) with new potatoes and salad. The tart was absolutely gorgeous and then it was apple pie and cream for dessert. The food was all fresh, home made and very good quality. I am very pleased that I bought this voucher and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone!

“Lovely afternoon.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

We were given a Groupon voucher for wine tasting and 3 course lunch as a gift.
On arrival we were given a map of the garden, we had a lovely walk around [helped by the sunshine]. I'm sure the garden will be better as the season progresses, at present it's a little bare [we expected that, though], but still very pleasant.
We then sat down to a very informative and witty wine tasting, given by the owner, Alexandra.
There was a good choice for all three courses for lunch, which was beautifully prepared and excellent quality.
We came away with a few bottles of wine, feeling we'd had a relaxing afternoon.
We intend to return in the Summer to see what the garden and vines look like, and also sample the afternoon tea!
