“A perfect gem”
Reviewed 4 weeks ago for a stay in July 2018

Well we are here at the moment and it is absolutely beautiful. From the moment we booked and contacted Paula we just knew we were going to love it. We did get a little lost as it's a way from the beaten track but our sat nav got us here. We were met by Pauline who offered us a typically wonderful Irish welcome. The bungalow is really lovely. Beautifully equipped with everything we can want from a holiday home with the most spectacular view of the Wild Atlantic Way you could imagine. Plenty of room in this spotlessly clean little gem. Visit Fields in Skibbereen for your supplies. The kitchen and every room are well appointed and the adjoining annex gives plenty of room. Tragumna and surroundings are just as I remembered from my last visit 21 years ago. The Skibbereen Eagle is the nearest pub with fabulous food. Anyone who rents this lovely property are in for a real treat and a holiday to remember. Thank you Paula and Pauline for your wonderful hospitality and the chance to use your gorgeous bungalow. Our holiday continues. Ps still trying to find a pub with a dartboard!!!!!!!

“Lovely accommodation in an excellent location”
Reviewed August 22, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Lovely well-equipped cottage with everything we could possibly have needed.
Beautiful view out over the bay with lovely sunsets. Shame we didn't spot any wildlife though!
The excellent, friendly, warm welcome made us feel at home straightaway.
The cottage was very spacious and I am sure would have comfortably accommodated our original party size of 8 which ended up being 3.
All in all an excellent cottage in a convenient and scenic location making for a very enjoyable holiday

Thanks for taking the time to review our holiday home. We were pleased to hear you enjoyed the wonderful sunsets! It's a pity you didn't spot any seals or dolphins as that was unusual, but I am glad you had a great holiday! We hope to welcome you back someday in the future.

“Perfect- well equipped holiday rental”

This was a perfect family holiday rental easliy the best equipped holiday rental property that I have stayed in with all essentials for a family stay catered for.
Location is stunning eventhough a little remote, the views easily compensate as do the many beautiful walks on the doorstep. We had mixed weather for our stay but this was not a problem as there are many activities for families in the location. our teenagers were very happy with the kayaking and whale watching trips from Reen Pier and the climbing in Clonakilty all a short drive away.We were also alble to hire some bikes in Skibbereen and spent a day exploring all the little roads in the area. All in all a wonderful holiday, we were very sad to leave. Thank you so much for the experience.

“Breathtaking location”
Reviewed August 29, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We loved our stay at Toe Head. The house and garden were in perfect order, very well organised and exactly as shown in the photos. The annexe was a nice surprise as there were no pictures showing it. It was very useful to have a second toilet and shower. The house itself was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with everything we needed. It was a lovely bonus to be able to light a fire in the evenings. The view from the house overlooking the bay is magnificent and you would never tire of the views as you walk around Toe Head.

Paula, the owner, was very helpful in the run-up to our stay answering any queries we had and Pauline the local manager was there to welcome us and explain where everything was.

We went on lots of outings in the local area, the beach in Roscarberry, Lough Hyne, Mizen Head and Crookhaven, Castletownshend and Union Hall and, of course, Skibbereen.

The shops are a bit of a drive away so it does mean that you have to be organised concerning supplies but that is the charm of Toe Head, tranquility and isolation in a beautiful setting.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we'd love to come back one day.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! Found it no problem and didn’t want to leave! Wonderful places to visit nearby, but perfectly happy exploring Toehead as well. We visited during winter and so used the wood burner, which was really great. Throws out some heat! Thank you for a hugely enjoyable stay. Will definitely be back.
