A very unique and relaxing resort in a fantastic location! With so many included activities it is an ideal family retreat. Staying in October we loved seeing snow on the surrounding mountain peaks and yet the weather was warm enough to enjoy the numerous outdoor activities. All the staff were genuinely friendly and very efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. In the words of our 11 year old son - 'Best Holiday Ever!'

Room Tip: We enjoyed our Lake View Apartment being close to the indoor pool and tennis courts.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write about your recent family holiday at the Resort. We love your sons comment about eing the best holiday ever! We strive to ensure we offer great value for all our guests by including as may activities as possible and as a father myself I know the importance of keeping children entertained and happy throughout their holiday and experiencing new things.

We had a 3 bedroom apartment overlooking the lake, it was spacious and comfy

The food at the restaurant was great but be there early or there would be a long queue

The staff are friendly

The location is good, near the Ski Tube station

We stayed at Lake Crackenback for three nights/four days over a long weekend and absolutely loved it. We stayed in a two bedroom Chalet and the staff were wonderful to us - so open and friendly and we couldn't fault them. The trip was a wedding gift from our family, so it was very nice to be greeted with chilled bubbles on arrival and snacks provided by the resort.

We dined at Cuisine on the first night, which was elegant and romantic looking out on the water and the staff (again!) were so friendly, and we had breakfast there on each of the days. We dined at Alpine Larder on the second and third nights and that was our favourite because we loved the woodfire pizzas. I spent one afternoon sitting there with a glass of local white and a brownie reading a book while my husband played golf, which was very relaxing.

We used their mountain bikes to get around the resort for the duration of the weekend and even though we don't often ride, I would recommend it as a fun, quick way to zip around and it also works up a little appetite riding to dinner.

I visited the day spa and had the completely luxurious experience of having a manicure and pedicure lying down, which was totally new to me. It was lovely to hop on the heated bed when the chilly wind was blowing outside. The spa was immaculate and my spa therapist was so polite and took great care with everything she did, and even gave me some disposable thongs to get home in, which was a nice touch compared to other hotel spas I have visited.

Our favourite part of the trip was the Segway tour! We had one tour initially and loved it so much we went back for another 'intermediate' one the next day. Our tour guide was great fun and was so obviously having fun himself that it eased some of my nerves about the trickier parts of the course. He pointed out different parts of the landscape and made us feel really at home.

My husband tried golf and archery and loved the novelty of having the Kangaroos around to supervise both. We got a little thrill from seeing a little snow on the mountain tops and made some great day trips to Dalgety Brewery and Wild Brumby Schnapps Distillery and into Jindabyne.

We don't have kids but saw lots around and can imagine it would be a great place to tire them out in school holidays, especially with the play room/creche in the same building as Cuisine and all the activities on offer.

We loved it and can’t wait to come back.

Room Tip: We stayed in a chalet which had a kitchen and deck looking out towards the mountains - great for a l...

Dear Alice B

Congratulations on your recent wedding - and what a lovely gift for you both to come to the Resort - how thoughtful!

It certainly sounds as though you both made the most of your time with us and understood the romance of the mountains - it is a fabulous romantic getaway here, such a special place and we love that you experienced it.

We are so glad you enjoyed both restaurants and your spa treatment (my wife loves the full manicure and pedicure, it's her favourite treatment!)..The segwway tours are great and very popular witrh many people doing more than one tour while their here. we now have a self guided segway tour experience as well.

We are constantly adding to our product, including the free activities so you will constantly have new activities to try when you come back to visit us.

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know of your trip and giving me the chance to give the staff here your wonderful feedback on their service and friendliness.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the resort in the near future and in the meantime please join us on Facebook and Twitter so you know of our latest happenings and special events at the Resort.

We stayed in one of the Gold chalets and my family of 5 (kids ages 13, 11, 10) loved it thoroughly!
Everything about the accommodation was beautiful. It was just as shown on the website. We felt that there was no one else in the resort, which wasn't true because we knew that there was a wedding happening and all their guests were staying at the same time.
We enjoyed golf, cycling, tennis, basketball, swimming in heated indoor pool, gym, archery, trampolines, walks around the lake as well as canoeing. All the equipments, we could hire from the reception for free. We didn't try out the restaurants for dinner but we enjoyed beautiful full buffet breakfast in the Cuisine every morning!!(Bonus for mum!) The fully equipped kitchen in our chalet and the gas BBQ on the deck were fabulous for dinner.
The bush walk along the Thredbo River was truly fantastic, the river looked so beautiful inviting, it was shame we didn't get to do any fishing-something for our next trip!! Also, there were lots of kangaroos on the property so you could watch them quite close, also saw a couple of slithery friends in the bush walks.
Overall, we were very happy with Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa and we look forward to coming back again soon.

Had a great time with the family - kids 10 and 8 year old twins. Highlights were the walks/ jogs along the Thredbo river and a day toboganning on a patch of snow close to Perisher: it was nice to be so close to be able to match activities with the weather. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with a stunning outlook across the lake. The indoor heated pool and sauna were great options for the days with horizontal hail and snow, as was reading by the fire! Daily early morning yoga sessions during school holidays - on weekends otherwise - were an unexpected bonus. Kids enjoyed the trampolines, archery and tennis. Meals at both on site restaurants were very good. We will be back!

Spent 2 nights at the resort on the adventure package and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We rode around on bikes, went on the mountain bike trail, went on a Segway tour, learnt how to fly fish and paddle boarded in the resort.

The chalet was well maintained and modern and the grounds was too! Breakfast was also quite good.

The only downer was the March flies! They are a real terror and the bites are PAINFUL! But that's not the resort's fault... But for your sanity I would suggest planning your visit outside of March fly season :)
