My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of the ski season and absolutely loved it. The scenery was incredible, literally 360 degrees of mountain bliss, not to mention the 3 lakes onsite. We stayed in a Chalet & it had everything you needed, down to the heated floors. The appliances are all high-end and you can tell that no expense has been spared in the construction. The staff were amazing, very attentive but not 'too' much. The breakfast options were great too, something for everyone. They activities on offer were really different to what you might be used to. Matt (the sports & recreation manager) taught us to flyfish for trout in one of the onsite lakes and we felt like pro's after just a couple of hours! A genuinely nice guy who genuinely loves his job. He even helped us with a flat tyre before we left. Not to forget Scott, the general manager, who couldn't give us enough information on where to go and what to do, a true gent. We will definitely be coming back to Crackenback.

I stayed at Lake Crackenback for 3 blissful days and nights with my fiance and another couple in a 2 BR chalet. We arrived late on Friday night after a long drive from Sydney, and were so pleasantly suprised to find our chalet was absolutely stunning! A warm gas fire heated up the spacious lounge room in no time, and perfectly complimented our nightcap of red wine. The bed was very comfortable and slept soundly. the next day we were up early to hit the slopes. Perisher ski tube is only a 2 minute drive so very convenient. After returning from the slopes we had a sunset walk around the Lake and saw lots of kangaroos. Next day was thredbo (only 15 mins drive) and a night in watching movies on the foxtel provided. Monday we went fly fishing - activities organiser Matt taught us how to fly fish and we even caught one! We didnt get to go mountain biking but next time we would love to, and i am keen to try out the day spa. The food at the 2 restaurants was delicious, we had a buffet breaky every day, and on our last night a yummy woodfire pizza.t. Highly recommend this place.

Room tip: Chalets are worth it. We stayed in 21 stockwhip way and it had a lovely mountain and lake outlook from the balcony

We have just had the best weekend away at Crackenback Resort with family and friends. The Chalet was fantastic and catered really well for kids and adults. It was warm, spacious and a really nice place to come back to after a fantastic day of Skiing (only a very short distance from Perisher). From sitting on the deck and enjoying the view of snow capped mountains and kangaroos grazing, to taking the kids on a lovely walk along the Thredbo river it was the perfect place to go exploring. The Kids also loved the trampolines and swimming pool. The only shame was that we couldn't fit all the activites into one weekend, so we'll definately be going back and for longer next time (we just have to try the Segway rides around the lake!). The staff were all lovely and genuinely interested in making our stay as enjoyable as possible, and having the Ski Hire shop at the resort made everything really easy.

We visited Lake Crakenback Resort for a late season family ski trip. We stayed in the 3 bedroom lakeside apartment, which we soon discovered is literally lakeside. The kids couldn't believe their eyes when they walked out onto a balcony that was built out over the water. The apartment was very spacious and well appointed, offering all the conveniences one would need, and the wood fire was a bonus and provided a cosy touch.

We availed ourselves of the on-site ski hire at Harros, which was quick and easy with friendly and helpful staff. Prices were pretty reasonable too with some good deals for families. The courtesy bus to and from the Ski Tube also made getting to the slopes a simple process, picked up and dropped off in a door to door service.

The included buffet breakfast was delicious, with plenty of variety to satisy all of us. We ate at both the on site retauraunts during our stay and the food was great. Nice friendly staff as well. Try the local Pale Ale, tasted very satisfying after a days boarding.

We didn't have as much time as we would have liked but the kids managed to try out most of the activites. Indoor heated pool, trampolines, archery, and of course the nature trails. They loved it, you'll have no problem with bored children in this place. Unfortunately didn't have time to sample the spa or the Segways, maybe next time. This was our first visit here but hopefully won't be our last. Really want to check out the place in summer and try some fishing, water sports and explore the trails in some more detail. It is certainly a beautiful location and the layout and feel of the resort is sympathetic to that pristine environment. It also has a nice peaceful and private feel about it.

I'd highly recommend Lake Crakenback, couldn't fault the place. Can't wait to go back.

Room tip: The Lakeside apartments are close to all the amentities, short walk to everything.

Have just returned from a weekend at Lake Crackenback Resort with my daughter and family friends feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. This really is a magical place with magnificent views of the mountains, a pristine lake, and wildlife just outside the room. We stayed in a 3 bedroom chalet, which was really spacious and modern and extremely comfortable. After a day skiing at Perisher we opted to spend the second day at the resort, it is such a relaxing place just to 'be'. We enjoyed a couple of local walks and the obstacle course, and the 5 kids in our group (age 4-7) loved exploring, trampolining and, of course, the heated swimming pool. Saturday dinner was taken care of with fantastic pizza from the Alpine Larder (on-site). Ski gear hire is also available on site, which is really convenient. The staff were really friendly and helpful making it an all-round terrific weekend. This is my second time to the resort and I can't wait to go back again.
