Thought Crackenback apartments were looking a bit tired. Our apartment was very bland with no vases of flowers, ornaments or any decor which may have brightened up the rooms. Kitchen/bathrooms could certainly do with a spruce up. Windows were dirty which spoilt the beautiful view of the lake. We had an unpleasant experience when we asked for transport in the courtesy bus. The bus was provided for people on Saturday night, the driver being one of your staff but when we asked for a lift into Thredbo on Friday night we were denied. I doubt we will be staying with you in the future. I will tick "Yes" that I would recommend your hotel to a friend but I would inform them the apartments are looking very tired. Regards, Julie Stretton.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at the Resort. I apologise that your stay with us did not meet your expectations.

All the properties at the Resort are privately owned, due to this fact they are all a little different in regards to the decor. I will be passing your comments regarding the property onto the owner so that we can discuss the points that you have brought to our attention.

In regards to the comment regarding our shuttle bus, unfortunatley due to staffing we were unable to facilitate the bus service on the Friday night, this does depend on the amount of staff we have avaialable who have a bus licence. The guests who had the bus on Saturday night were a large group who had booked this 2 months prior to their arrival. We are more then happy to organise this for our guests but do need some notice.

I do apologise if the above did negatively impact your stay and I hope that you will give us the chance to better serve you in the near future.

Best Regards,

Lyndon Discombe

We couldnt fault the resort, our 1 x bedroom apartment was excellent, a balcony overhanging the lake, if we had a fishing line we could have fished. The amenities were plentiful if you wanted to keep busy, something for everyone all ages. We will definitely go back but next time to experience the snow season, thredbo and jindabyne snow fields only a 15min drive away.
we will be back, thank you for a memorable time away from the bright city lights.

Room Tip: ensure you get a room on the lake, the 1 x bedder was very comfortable but bedroom was situated upst...

This Resort has been a very positive surprise, lots of space, excellent and huge rooms, with a wonderful view on the lake from one of the bedrooms. Excellent and friendly service, nice location to walk around (in the summer). The restaurant is good (service has been a bit slow), breakfast is ok but just average, nothing special. All in, very good value and nice experience.

Room Tip: Select a large room on the first floor with a view on the lake.

I stayed here with my young family (aged 8, 5 and 21 months) and it was the perfect way to experience the snow. The setting is breathtaking (we were lucky to experience snowfall at the resort). The resort is 15 minutes drive from Thredbo but when at the resort you can comfortably walk outside without all your snow gear on - tracksuit, beanies and scarves suffice. Kids activities such as trampolines, archery and duck feeding kept the little ones thoroughly entertained on off-snow days. The pool was okay for a winter swim as it was heated but I really don't think it would be very good for a Summer holiday as it was fully enclosed and not very big.

We stayed in a two bed unit. It had a fabulous set up. Very roomy and the bed was extremely comfortable.

The new cafe/pizza place was nice for an afternoon tea hot chocolate. The restaurant food, Cuisine on Lake was just delicious. I had the best rib-eye I have ever eaten. Worth every cent with an Accor Advantage Plus discount. The spa looked lovely - unfortunately I didn't manage to escape for an hour to try a treatment. Next time, perhaps.

Harrod's snow hire was a convenient way to get your ski gear and we found the prices fair for such convenience. Their equipment was good quality.

The only disappointment was the TV reception was extremely poor on some channels.

Overall, we rate this resort highly and will be back for another NSW ski holiday in the future.

We stayed here for 10 day in late September - got some excellent rates direct with the hotel which I didn't find online so worth calling them direct to see what they can offer, The reception staff were fine and bar and restaurant staff were nice and relaxed and friendly.
We booked a 2 bedroom with a loft but got upgraded to a great 3 bedroom waterfront apartment. The soft furnishings have all been redone but kitchen and bathrooms are dated (tiny shower in the ensuite) but very clean and you can live with it and they are very functional. Awesome open fire places and heating throughout is perfect. The chalets are much more modern. The resort has 2 fantastic food outlets - the Alpine Lader is a more relaxed dining option - still pretty pricey (what you would expect in a resort) but pizzas are awesome and fantastic open fire and atmosphere. The Breakfasts were fantastic - loved the Espresso machines - tip - on the weekend go to breakie early if you can because the weekenders come later and it's really busy. We were skiing every day so up early and on our way quickly. The Ski rental shop is awesome - service fantastic and they know what they are talking about and the ski tube being only around the corner its a huge plus. The location is fantastic - beautiful views across the lake - heaps of kangaroos and snow capped mountains every day is heaven, especially when you come from the tropics ! The kids loved the trampolines and mountain bikes and archery. One of the best resorts we've been too besides some "older dated" amenities, but would definitley recommend to any family that wants to spend time in an Alpine environment - summer or winter - we can't wait to be back !

Can recommend this hotel -- staff were friendly, food was excellent, great lake location below snow line, but great access to snow via Skitube. Could suggest a greater variety of food at the new cafe, ie soup, burgers, etc.

The hotel facilities are great, however the luck of maintenance of the units leaves a great deal to desire. It is ashame, but thats the way it was.

Some of the reception staff are really unhelful, and speak without thinking what they say. Some training in that departement would really help

The convenience store attached to reception, is too smal, it does not have sufficient articles to be reliable.

Never buy coffee from the reception, it is horrible, and honestly the staff are only charging customers to press on a bouton.

It is important to know that rooms can be really hot and dry in winter, these are however spacious on comfortable.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at the Resort.

In regards to the lack of maintenance in the property I have passed on your feedback to our Maintenance Manager for his action. Please accept my sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The staff at the Resort strive for superior and friendly service, again please accept my apologies that this was not your experience. I have spoken with our Front Office Manager regarding this and they will share your comments with our teams to ensure we improve in this area.

I appreciate the coffee at reception is made via an automated machine and not as high quality as our restaurants. We provide this facility as an alternative for those guests that do not wish to obtain a barista coffee from Cuisine before 10.30am or Alpine Larder from 10.30am.

In relation to the room being hot & dry in winter I trust this was a positive experience for you as all the properties on the Resort are equipped with electric heating and some have fire places to enable our guests to keep warm and cosy during the winter months.

Thank you again for your feedback and if I may be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards,

Lyndon Discombe
