Review of The Shed Cafe

The Shed Cafe
Ranked #2 of 5 Restaurants in Edom
Description: We are a genuine small town cafe in East Texas. The population of our town is 375. However, our cafe, The Shed Cafe, has been voted the #1 cafe in all of East Texas. We offer and are famous for our chicken fried steak, fried catfish and our Thursday night Steak Night when we serve our certified black angus beef steaks and our famous hamburgers. Then, to top it all off, we have our homemade pies which people drive for miles to get! Come Get Fed at The Shed. You will be glad you did.

This is a great bike ride from Dallas. We've been twice. Once for dessert and it was fantastic and the second visit was for breakfast and it was GREAT. The service was very good. And if you like rustic, kind of hole in the wall places this is the place to go. I will go back.

All of their food is great, but this is the first place I ever tasted french fried sweet potatoes. They are addicting.

Such a jewel in a artsy town of 374.The breakfasts are to die for,and the tea or coffee was free. The waitresses are outstanding. The crowd is eclectic also. From farmers in overalls to surfers in floraled shirts to business men in suits.to everything in between.Biker and car club friendly, you bet.Edom even has a cruise night ounce a month. The Edom,Ben Wheeler area is an awesome part of East Texas.

After The Shed changed owners they no longer served "country" cooking. Food was bad and service was terrible.

The Shed is a rural Texas cafe located in the charming little village of Edom. The breakfasts here are top-drawer classic ranch cooking: eggs that were just gathered, home-made sausage, sugar-cured bacon, huge but light biscuits, cream gravy that is light and tasty, and for take--home a huge selection of home-made pies. Full breakfast for two, including tax, was $6.96!
To work up an appetite to handle this fare, you can pick your own blueberries at the nearby Blueberry Hill berry farm in June and July.
