We had a lunch here which was gorgeous! Great menu and you must try the home made chips! Staff were very friendly and pub had a lovely atmosphere!

We were staying 2 nights at the neighbouring Kings Head where we enjoyed imaginative food. The second night decided to give The Black Swan a go. Judging by the number of customers this place does not have to try too hard and is resting on its laurels. I have had scallops on many occasions but never such tiny slices as were served here. The 'seasonal' veg which came with husband's beef were a large heap of untrimmed sugarsnap peas, baby sweetcorn and carrots. The peas and corn are surely a year round import. My belly pork was served with an unappetising tower of tomato slices, spinach and apple rings. Both plates looked as though they had been sitting for a while. My husband enjoyed has beef, my pork was nice except for the burnt bits. Other customers were complaining about the spiciness (too hot) of the rice served with the salmon and the hugeness of the gammon and chips which was served with a monster Scotch egg.
