“A fair trek.”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

It was a fair walk to get to the falls, and I think that they were - falls. I guess that they are not much different to other falls in the Auckland regions, and elsewhere for that matter.

“An easy walk and great views”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

The kitekite falls track is a great way to experience the NZ bush and have a dip in the waterfall if you don't mind the cold water! We did the walk with a 4 year old and a 6 year, it took about 40 minutes at their pace (and 40 minutes back to the carpark).

A great thing to do after or before having gone to PIha beach.

“Worth the walk”

After an easy walk through fine examples of NZ bush a magnificent waterfall & pool rewards you. An ideal spot for a picnic before heading back out to the carpark

“kitekite Falls”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

Pronounced kittie kittie, This includes a 30-40 minute bushwalk to the falls (dependent on your level of fitness), the track is well maintained, there are some slopes but not too taxing, and on dropping down to the falls some steep wooden steps. Good viewing points along the way too.

The falls cascade into a well sized pool before winding through the hills to the coast at Piha, great for swimming, but as you'd expect ice cold, refreshing.

Those who are more adventurous may want to carry on up the track to the top of falls where smaller pools awaiting, this track is steep and harder than the earlier walk, but the views are majestic, and the pools quieter.

To get onto the kitekite falls track go to the end of glen esk road in piha, and the track starts at the carpark there, either past the large kauri stump or just a liitle further down the carpark.
