Description: The architectural structure from which it is named our restaurant consists of a covered walkway over the walls of the fortified town of Serra San Quirico. The restaurant rests just above "the Copertelle". The dishes prepared in our kitchen inspired as much by simplicity of the popular cooking as the sophistication of the products that our territory offers us such as aged cheese, mushrooms, truffles, but also shrimp and trout river. The choice of products, seasonings and wine is rooted in biology because we believe that the earth with its naturalness can give us all the flavors that we need. Some of these products can be found in our " Shop Local Products " The wine selection is meticulous as it is the care of their preservation in our Enoteca placed under the copertelle.

We stopped at Serra San Quirico by chance on our way to Ancona airport to fly home. We needed a quick and hearty lunch with our 2 young children before a long day of travelling. We found Le Copertelle by chance as we wondered into the town and had a really lovely lunch. I had the best pasta of my 2 week holiday in Italy (tagliolini with fresh tomatoes and local ham), my husband had fabulous grilled lamb and the patron kindly whipped up penne with tomato sauce for the 2 girls. It was quick, delicious and extremely good value. Plus the town is very picturesque - we wished we had more time to explore.

I usually leave or good comments or really bad... We been visiting Grotte di Fracassi and met a person who was advertising this restaurant. So we went to have lunch there with friends and it was a mistake, bad quality of food, it's was or tasteless or too salty.
Meat was overcooked ,but the same time raw inside. In my opinion or they neef to change chef or they don't need to advertise this place at all.

We went there after going to the nearby Grotte di Frasassi. We ordered tagliatelle al tartufo nero and gnocchi al pecorino e tartufo nero since we like truffle. The Gnocchi were fine, unfortunately the tagliatelle were prepared without any salt and quite tasteless. Not even adding parmesan could help, a real pity and waste of truffles. We had expected more from handmade pasta, especially for the price we payed.

Le Copertelle is one of our favorites. When we feel hungry and want to be sure that we will get tasty and local food with a seasonal touch, we go there. In the summer the best place to have your dinner is high on the small terrazza looking down along the great ancient wall of Serra S. Quirico.
The quality of the antipasto della casa seems to be an essential criteria for a good restaurant for us. And that's what you'll get there - always with a seasonal twist!
I must admit I'm totally hooked to the rabbit pasta. No matter how often we go - before I even notice I have already ordered it. But what ever pasta you choose, you can't go wrong.
The cheese and meat comes from nearby, the wild asparagus and mushrooms from the Monte Murano you can see from the terrazza. And the welcoming owner likes to explain what is on the plate, where does it come from and how it's done. What else you could wish for!
