Agriturismo Bricco San Giovanni

We, a couple from Zuerich Switzerland have been in Bricco S. Giovanni for the third time now and it was as always a wonderful relaxing stay for us.
So friendly and warm accomodation with best fresh cooked food, excellent wine from the house. Our little dog felt so well there too.
A little oasis in Piemont.
Everything was perfect.

5 wonderful days spent relaxing, sunbathing and enjoying wonderful home-cooked meals in this beautiful corner of the piedmonte wine-country. Our room was spacious and comfortable with splendid views across the hills. Kristina, the friendly and attentive proprietor, made us feel like home!

A truly wonderful place to relax and recharge your batteries, with plenty of opportunities for excursions to nearby places of interest - although we were happy to spend most of our time relaxing by the pool....

Highly recommended.

We spent 5 nights in this B&B mid september. The rooms are spacious, the communal areas (breakfast / pool) easily allow for privacy and relaxation. Wifi works good on ground floor. Cleaning is done very regularly. There is a possibility to have dinner for jus E35, which is a bargain if you look at quality and quantity; moreover, the great local wines are served without limitations.
We met with a wide variety of people, from younger couples to an older group travelling together, from various nationalities (although the Scandinavian influence is clear).
The B&B is just 5 minutes of the highway, located amidts winefields in total tranquility. Morningswims at sunrise are the best way to start the day here, with the B&B slowly awakening. The fun and mellow dogs are just hilarious, and the management is always around for a helping hand for guidance to great restaurants or just a good conversation. We wiil definitely return, it feels you're in Tuscany yet it is only a 3,5 hour drive from Geneva.

Room Tip: Rooms are all great.

If you like wine and nice Italien food, you should book youselves a room a.s.a.p. We have been to many places the last 25 years, but this one is definetly in our top 3. The beautifull typical Italian house is based right in the middle of amazing looking vineyards. Very nice people to help you out with all of your questions or suggestions what to visit next, as there is too much to see around the place as Asti, Alba and Baralo, the home of the most beautifull wines, are around the corner. Every night they served an excellent 5 star dinner outside on the terrace. It was a shame we had to leave after 4 days, we could stay forever.

The view is sublime, the house pretty, the rooms ok. Peaceful outside, inside is another story. Noises, even the smallest, resonate from room to room. unbearable. But the worst of all is the food. By far the worst meal I've ever had in Italy over many years. The food is Sinister to look at and not edible.Even the pasta had no taste. The E35 dinner is based on quantity, not quality.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere if you want to sleep

Dear Precious Customer,
Thank you for your wonderful endorsement of the venue and the house.
Thank you also for reminding us about the noise issue in certain rooms.
We are looking into possible solution for this, but as this is an old building, i am sure you can understand that there are many steps involved.
As for your comment on the food, i am struggling to remember what night that must have been.
If you look at the other comments we receive about our traditional Piemontese Cuisine, you will notice a considerable disconnect.
All I can say is that if you ever visit again, dinner will be on us and i'm confident that you will pleasantly surprised.
With Kind Regards. Kristina

Typical and well refurbished building at the top of the hill (that's what Bricco means) with a stunning view on the vineyards. Big, tidy rooms with good and proper furniture, most of them has three windows. The pool is simply perfect: secluded, quite large, with a view and sanitized with salt, which finally gets rid of chlorine smell. Breakfast is ok, with fresh fruit but no gourmet croissant. It is served in the beautiful terrace. Evening meals are good, but probably suffers form unparalleled value for money of hundreds of great taverns in the surroundings. Nevertheless it is well done and pleasant. Not cheap. Aperitivo in the terrace is familiar and relaxing. Personnel is really kind. Hospitality is very special, as you feel as a host in a family with a house staff. I did like it and will return.
