We have stayed several times and never been disapointed,Very clean throughout and excelent well stocked cosy bar and good pleantiful food .
Views over the Black Mountains towards Wales.
Nice raised decking area / conservatory to sit and watch sunsets.
Most important of all ,friendly helpful staff.
Gluten free food usually available.
Surrounding area not spoilt by tourists, and good tours abound.
Highly recommended and good for a romantic short break .

Room Tip: allways choose a valley room.

Thankyou Pilgrim Hotel for a delightful stay. Two night break with super food and very comfortable room. The starter of sourdough foccacia bread (home made) and olives is to die for. Nothing was too much trouble and we would love to return sometime. Excellent position for all the towns and visitor attractions in the area. Brian & Jenny, Derby

This hotel is ideally placed if you want to do some moderate walking in both Herefordshire and the Brecon Beacons.
We arrived quite late on Friday and were not disappointed with the lovely room (10) and the views it afforded us over the valley. However we were a bit dismayed to find that one side of our super king (two singles joined) had a mattress that was less than ideal. We asked at reception if there was anything they could do. The staff were really apologetic but could not given us an alternative room the same grade as the one we had booked as they were full, accept for one small room on the first floor. However the next day the mattress was swapped and all was well, nothing was to much trouble for the staff who were very keen to ensure that the guest experience was excellent.
Breakfast was brilliant with an amazing choice. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and the food was suburb and really good value for the quality and presentation.
If I were to offer one criticism it would be the price of the drinks in the bar. Maybe I am a bit out of touch with the cost of drinks in a hotel but I did think that £4.95 for a shot of a single malt was a tad on the expensive side. Having said that Richard the bar manager did give us a bottle of complementary wine to make up for the mattress incident so all in all 10/10 for this beautiful hotel.

Room Tip: Worth the upgrade to get a valley view room as they are much larger and the views are second to none...

Fantastic stay, realy comfortable bed. Food in restaurant excellent. Lovely breakfasts, Cheerful staff. Supurb location , quiet and yet easy access to Ross and Hereford. We realy were impressed withSymonds Yat Rock and would suggest others visit when in the area. Would like to revisit and maybe have time to do some walking.
The 2 night break was a Christmas gift from our daughters !

Room Tip: Rear room overlooking the countryside best

This hotel looks the part of an english country hotel. The grounds and views are top-notch. The rooms are nice, the staff are friendly and our little dog was able to stay too. The restuarant food was great and so was our breakfast.
We are definately returning and will recomend it to our friends.

Room Tip: Choose the ground floor if you are taking your dog for easy access to the garden.

Welcome was pleasant, view from the room beautiful over to the welsh hills. Food in the restaurant was good, not the best we have ever eaten but still good. Staff were very accommodating. The only fault was on check out when we were charged for lunch and a bottle of wine that we never had. They also tried to charge for the wine and flowers my husband had pre booked and paid for as a surprise for me. Took a while to sort and put a dampner on an otherwise pleasant stay.

Room Tip: room 15 had a lovely view.
