“Family stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

Went with my family and found the place clean and well equipped. Room is spacious and bed is comfortable. jim was working behind the reception that day when we check-in and he was friendly and very helpful. Parking was the only issue we had as we came back late at nite and found all the lots were taken up even though we had paid for one. Fortunately, we were able to get a refund. Certainly recommend !

Dear Erico2709, Thank you for your feedback and we are delighted to learn that you and your family had a comfortable stay with us.

As for your feedback in relation to car park, we apologise that there was no space for you when you returned at night. It is no excuse but we have had some unexpected arrivals on the night and as result, our car park had filled up prior to your return.

Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience caused as result of limited parking space during your stay and we hope this has not marred your experience with us at the Quest Albany.

Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you and your family back in the near future.

A clean, and very handy hotel in the heart of Albany. Had everything I needed including a small but well layed out kitchen. While there are no resturants, room service, or bars here, they have a good charge back system with some of the local places & you can order a breakfast pack. The only low point was the bed was the hardest that I have ever tried to sleep on!! Have given feedback on this - which was well recieved. A nice touch are the little kitkat bars & plunger coffee that were provided ( no extra cost).

Room Tip: The beds are really hard - as for a bed topper!! Also caged parking is limited, so before heading ou...

We stayed at this Serviced Apartment for 4 days in a studio room in October 2012. Check-in was a breeze, we arrived as Jim the franchise owner/manager was supposed to be finishing/closing the reception because office hours was from 7 am to 7 pm.

Since our room is a studio, it is a bit smallish with 32" Flat screen LG TV mounted on the wall, LG audio with ipod dock, cooking utensils and facilities, microwave, fridge, dish washer, washing machine and dryer. It also is provided with coffee and milo chocolate sachet as well as coffee with plunger. Also, this Quest apartment is very basic without swimming pool and gym.

The place is clean and is about 2 years old. Our studio room has 2 connected single bed as a king bed and is comfortable with clean linens. The toilet/bathroom is also clean but average size with no bathtub. My only gripe in the otherwise perfect stay is there are no drawers for underwears and t-shirts and mirror is only in the bathroom, sliding cabinet doors should have been fitted with mirrors.

Wireless internet is available with a fee of $15/day which is really a bit of a bummer since in this age and time, free internet access should be a given thing. Anyway, in fairness to Quest (specially to Jim), cost of internet in New Zealand is prohibitive. Also, don't worry too much, there are options to have free internet, 1) there is a pc near the entrance of Quest that have internet access, 2) Council library throughout Aucklkand offers free wireless internet access and one is just a very short walk from Quest and 3) if you are like me, I don't roam my home mobile phone because you'll get bill shock when you get back home, get a NZ sim from the local telco's, they usually comes with mobile broadband and just tether your phone for internet access.

Jim was very helpful and told us the surrounding area, where the restaurants are, the atm machine so we could get cash and some recommendations. The area has around a dozen small restaurants and 2 pubs. It is also around 15 minutes walk to Massey University and just accross the university is the largest Westfiled Shopping Mall in NZ. The area is quiet enough to have a really good night sleep.

I highly recommend this place if your are looking to stay in Albany.

Stayed here recently for 7 days while my daughter was in Auckland for hockey tournament - and very pleased with our choice to stay here. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment which was beautifully presented and decorated. Apartment was serviced every day. Staff were very helpful, both at the reception and when I booked over the phone. Apartments are right in Albany Village so plenty of choices for food. Just a short drive to the Albany Mall as well. Secure parking is available also.
Would definitely stay here again, a fantastic apartment complex with great facilities and very nice, friendly staff.

I recently stayed at the Quest Albany hotel in Albany Auckland (NZ). The site was recommended and booked by my client and to be honest, when I was told I was booked in on the $150 managers special, I assumed it would be dreadful.

I am pleased to report that I was very wrong. The site was really clean, room was huge and contained a separate bedroom, living area and bathroom (which includes a laundry). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
There is no cafe/restaurant on site though there are a number of eateries very close by and because these are self contained units, I had everything I needed.

Overall, I highly recommend this place. Great value for money and I will absolutely stay there again should I ever need to return to the area.

I recently stayed at the Quest Albany for 4 nights with my family. This was our second stay at the Quest Albany during 2012 and once again our experience was excellent. The apartments are modern, clean, well-furnished, quiet and conveniently-located. The owners work really hard to meet your accommodation needs and to make your stay pleasurable. They deserve your business.

We returned to Albany Quest for a 5 nights stay in Jun, this time with our teen daughter and stayed in a 2 bedrooms apartment. We were very impressed with the big layout and full kitchen facility and our daughter commented that we could bake a cake right in that kitchen! This apartment with big balcony could easily house 4 adults.

Apart from easy access to get to the city and Devonport from where we stay, this time we spent more time returning to the Deli - Roasts & Chinese Foods (superb asian delight!) which we sorely missed after enjoying their excellent Roast meat (Beef, Chiken and Pork) with mix vegetables and rice (and not forgetting their crispy fried "Wanton", southern fried chicken) during our last trip to Quest. And oh, did I mention the Kell Park? It is just right beside Quest and we were simply amazed by the beauty of the park, and even make friends with the free roaming ducks there (yes, they are not afraid of humans, and will come ashore in order to get close to you)!
