“Tranquil location”

First time in a Wigwam, and it was so good I'm gonna throw out my tent! No more fighting with poles, tent pegs and guy ropes for me! Spacious, comfortable mattresses, fridge and kettle supplied, electricity cards available. Full use of the cowboy kitchen and dining room ( great for a fry up in the morn) fire pit and picnic table outside your wigwam. Lovely peaceful location, two pubs and a shop just a few mins walk away ( the Crown does lovely, reasonably priced meals) just a short drive to aberfoyle or callander. We were four adults just looking for a chill-out couple of days and that's exactly what we got. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

This was our first 'glamping' holiday with young children and overall was a resounding success.

We have two sons - one aged 2.5y and one aged 9 months.

The wigwam was excellent - dry and warm - quite spacious too, although became slightly cramped with our addition of a travel cot.

Blair Drummond safari park is in easy distance - a great place to visit for young families.

Mains Farm privided an ideal base for our short break, and the wigwam itself is quite fun for young children.

It was not ideal for our youngest - as he is currently between crawing and cruising he spent quite a lot of time trying to shuffle round the limited floor space. However our eldest was happy to site and play with lego, or run around in the garden area and play on the climbing frame.

Good facilities too - showers, kitchen, washrooms etc.

Our neighbours commented that the wigwams seemed closer together than they were used to (I measured ~9m between doors), although having viewed a few more wigwam sites online they all look pretty closely packed.

Room Tip: wigwam no7 seems to be the only one with the door which opens outwards - which I would imagine creat...

Stayed for 2 nights in a Lux Wigwam on a Itson Break. Car parking space next to the Wigwam, which had a nice decking area to sit out. Inside was cosy, the luxury of a shower and toilet, which were spotless, made camping even better. After checking in, which was quick and efficient, the guy said he would be over in 10 mins. When he arrived he had the electricity cards which you purchase at £1.00 each we took 2. But only used the one. But did have some credit from the previous visitors. The 3 of us used the electric shower, Myself my hair drier, boiled some eggs in the plug in hot plate, baked some potatoes in the Microwave, plus endless cups of tea and coffee. Overall thought the electricity was a good price. We had out own BBQ, which we used both nights. Had purchased a bag of logs for the fire pit, £5.00 from reception. Made sitting out a nice experience. Had taken our own plates, cups, and cutlery. No need to take pots or utensils as they are supplied, along with kettle Microwave and Fridge. Remember to take washing up liquid, cloth, tea towel. Plus bedding and towels. We took toilet rolls no need they are supplied. Kitchen Roll is useful for wiping down,or as napkin when barbecuing. Very peaceful and quite at night. Only negative comment was the Wigwam did get very hot at night, due to lack of ventilation, unless you opened the bathroom window..

Stayed here just 2013 for two nights - party of 5 in a deluxe. Def worth the extra money for shower and toilet. Didn't use fire pit or BBQ but they looked a good option. We ate at lion and unicorn nearby. Great family experience and kids loved it. We also visited safari park nearby.
