“Strongly recommend this charming boutique restaurant by the water with a cajun feel!”
Reviewed May 14, 2011

After coming here a year & a half ago with clients and now living in Victoria full time from Vancouver. I would DEFINITELY recommend this boutique cozy cajun-feel restaurant to visitors & locals alike. The food was so delicious and the 'half' portions are filling and well deserving of their price value. The waiter seemed so down to earth and attentive. The REAL rating of this hidden gem should be a 5 STARS out of 5! end of story.....

“Excellent Cajun food”
Reviewed September 17, 2010

We went there on our vacation. The restaurant is out of the way, not very well marked, but the drive there was very scenic and enjoyable. The restaurant is located on the harbour and has a large outdoor terrace. We were well received. The staff was attentive and very friendly. We had a very enjoyable dinner. The food was very well cooked, well presented and brought hot to the table. They have a nice wine selection, a bit limited but it goes well with the food.
Since I am a professional chef, I do know about food and can highly recommend the Blue's Bayou Cafe to anyone looking for an enjoyable dining experience.

“Beware Blue's Bayou”
Reviewed August 17, 2010

I opted for the lunch special at Blue's Bayou, described as a salad of artisanal tomatoes and scallops. I received two pieces of toast, covered by microscospically thin tomato slices and two small scallops, atop a bed of tired mixed greens, for $15.95. When I told the server, [who could not be bothered to remove any of our plates until long after the yellow jackets attacked the finished platters], that I thought I had been dishonestly dealt with, she talked to the manager. He did not bother to come out, but could be heard telling her to say the ingredients were very expensive. Tomatoes expensive at the height of season? Give me a break. $15.95 for one ounce of scallops is laughable as well. Give Blue's Bayou a miss and go to a restaurant which treats its customers fairly.

“A bit of New Orleans in a cool Canadian climate”
Reviewed July 22, 2009

Spent the eve of 4th of July on the deck of this casual waterfront restaurant in Brentwood Bay. Owner is from New Orleans, and the menu reflected cajun flare. Fish was local, very fresh, and better than many seafood houses. Vegetables were locally grown and done to perfection. Good service, friendly staff. Lingered over coffee and dessert to see the higher Sat. night fireworks from Butchart Gardens which coincided with the USA 4th this year.

“First visit to this wonderful restaurant”
Reviewed July 1, 2009

We sat on the patio on a gorgeous june evening, the food was wonderful(even as leftovers the next day). Our waitress was awesome and shared info on the surrounding area & about the restaurant. It was so good we are going back tonight - my husband loves jambalaya & he would highly recommend it!!! Don't miss this restaurant even for a drink on the patio to enjoy the view and surroundings...
