“Wonderful Dinner-Can't wait to stay there!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2008

Went to the Brentwood Bay Lodge for dinner and wish I could have stayed for the night - or at least to experience the Spa. This is a stunning new property, with great architecture mixing comfortable and urban style. More boutique hotel than a traditional lodge, it is impressive as soon as you enter the Lobby. We were so curious that we asked for a tour before sitting down for dinner. Every staff member we dealt with was great and we were given a wonderful tour of the property. All the rooms are basicaly suites, all with a spectacular views. The spa is to die for. As for our dinner, it was delicious. The service was attentive and the dining room very welcoming.

My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights. We were a bit concerned on our way driving there as the neighborhood was all pretty old residential area. Fortunately, the lodge itself is pretty well-maintained and it gave you a relaxing feeling right after you stepped into the lobby.

It is a definitely a small hotel but pretty well equipped. It has a small but nice swimming pool and a hot tub beside. Spa and free wireless internet are available. Very nice view from the room's balcony. Room is equipped with a jetted tub and the design of the room allows you to enjoy the nice view outside while taking a bath in the jetted tub! Food in the restaurant is quite good and not expensive.

This lodge is great for getaways since it is away from Victoria downtown, around 1/2 hr drive.

Great location, beautiful view, the honeymoon room was amazing with jacuzzi, jetted tub on the deck as well as the tiled shower with body jets. The staff were friendly and courteous. Will definatley come back again. The ride on the tiny ferry was cool too.

When I arrived at the Brentwood Bay Lodge, the front desk staff were extremely helpful and even offered to help me carry our luggage. The rooms were amazing and had excellent views! Wished I lived here! The morning buffet had a great selection of food for the morning and we left feeling refreshed. Will come back again!

  • Liked — The luxurious rooms and the views
  • Disliked — The lighting in the corridors did not turn on until late and created a feeling of discomfort

The front desk agents were pretentious and arrogant. On a happier note, the room was beautiful, free dvds available at the front desk (pretty good selection). The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous, heated tile floors, walk in shower, tea light candles. Sure the room was nice...but it was so NOISEY...we could not sleep at all for the two nights that we stayed there. This place was not cheap either approx. $500 CAD for two nights. There was dragging, banging, slamming, etc. coming from the room above us all night long (on both nights). We called the front desk to complain and they said they investigated and heard no noises. While checking out we complained again to front desk and they ignored us completley. I wrote a letter when I got home because I was so upset that this was our valentine's day weekend and they did nothing about the noise (no apology or offer to change rooms). They also charged our credit card in full before checking out without advising us. When we complained about that, they got all snotty with us. The staff in the restaurant were also rude, taking 30 mins to our us glasses of water. I recommend staying eslewhere unless you enjoy pompous, arrogant service. The hotel manager wrote us back, blaming us for all the issues...the letter was full of snarky comments, this hotel will take no blam whatsoever if they are in the wrong...kind of like the evil mother-in-law of hotels...*sigh*

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and had a wonderfull time. We arrived very early to check in - 11.30am - not expecting to be able to, but there was no problem. The very friendly staff made us feel very welcome and we were given a beautiful room with a lovely view over the marina and the water. After we had settled in we took a wander around the hotel to check it out and when we returned there was a plate with truffles and strawberries waiting on the bed for us.....nice.
We stayed for three nights and never really left at all. The pub food was great. Good value and tasty. My wife booked some spa treatments and praised the staff. We spent time by the pool with lunch and drinks served to us. We also made use of the free dvd rental from reception.
Overall we had an amazing stay there, we left feeling relaxed and satisfied.

Originally my husband and I stayed here last year at the same time for our honeymoon. We had such a great stay that we decided to have our one-year anniversary at the Brentwood Bay Lodge & Spa.

Overall, the decor is very modern and the colours are neutral which complement the natural landscape. The rooms are equally amazing - own fireplace, king/queen beds with soft duvets, large 2-person tubs and an exquisite shower with steam sprays. This is a place to relax.

The staff is knowledgeable and always pleasant. The facility is available to those over 16-years so you're guaranteed some tranquility.

The downside is that the restaurant can be booked up and the pub is pretty crowded. But food quality was good and the ambience matched the 5-star resort feel.

And besides water-activities or the Butchart Gardens there's not a lot of other things to do but Victoria is a quick 20 mins. drive away.

So if you like water sports, hiking, spas or just relaxing I'd highly recommend staying here.
