We were visiting Buchart Gardens in the early afternoon. We stopped at the information desk and made reservations for a 5 PM dinner. We were pleasantly surprised.
We were seated on the outside porch/lanai. We had an excellent server who could answer our questions, was friendly, and superb at her job. When we ordered a seafood appetizer to share, she suggested that we add an additional scallop for our party of four at a minimal cost. The seafood appetizer was not only lovely to look at, but extremely tasty. It had sea scallops, cooked to perfection, crab cakes, and a salmon roll.
The salmon main dish was excellent. The rib eye steak (which tasted like an outstanding fillet) and shrimp was a positive take a surf and turf. After dinner, desserts and ice wines were fabulous.
Of course, the view over the rose garden was tremendous. Just when we thought that it could not get any better, we heard big band music being played at their bandstand. After dinner, we strolled over to the bandstand to listen to big band music and watch couples dance for about an hour.
We found this dinner experience to be a much better value than tea at the site or at the Empress. We will definitely return on our next visit.
