They fly all around you...land on you...sit still on foliage so you can get great pictures! If you like butterflies... must see.

We would like to thank you for your kind words about our tropical paradise. We are glad you had such a good time but did you know that if you were red or yellow and have a fruit scented perfume or shampoo you can increase the chance of the butterflies landing on you?

We hope to see you again!

“Flutterby this garden”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

Beautiful butterflies in abundance. Very colourful and educational as well. Some lovely birds add to the colour. I love the warmth and humidity as it feels like you are in Hawaii.

We would have to agree that it does feel like a getaway to Hawaii. We hope you will come and have another Hawaiian experience soon. Don't forget to visit with the tortoises, turtles, and ducks as they need some attention as well.

Aloha!!

“Just an ok experience”
Reviewed January 22, 2012

Wasn't too sure what to expect when we arrived. Admission price was a little high but the kids under 5 were free. Charged a few more dollars for a butterfly identifier sheet. This should be free. We walked into the gardens and first impression was good. Display with butterflies hatching was fun for the kids to see. Spent an hour in the gardens and saw maybe 7 butterflies. They do have fish in a pond, birds and flamingos. Small display with frogs and geckos and the always cool Chameleon. But overall it was below my expectations. Classic souvenir gift shop at the end with low quality high priced items. No need to go a second time. Unless we did a guided tour as a more educational experience.

Thank you for your review of the Gardens. I am sorry to hear that you did not feel that it met with your expectations but your review has prompted our management team to look at what we can do and how we can make our Gardens a better experience. I would be pleased to meet with you in person or by phone to discuss your thoughts of the Gardens in depth. We are now working on a free handout that will be available very soon.

We do offer complimentary guided tours and we have increased our butterfly population to double what it used to be. Depending on the time of day and the light level it can decrease flight levels but with a tour you will see all the butterflies and where they may be roosting.

I hope you will call or email and give us a second try as we want to exceed everyones expectations.

“They land on you!”
Reviewed January 20, 2012

On the coldest day in the winter, this is a warm oasis with all sorts of butterflies flying all over the place and actually landing on your nose - if you let them.

It is true that the butterflies can land you, sometimes. Did you know that this is how they taste you? That's right, butterflies taste with their feet! If you were a perfume that has a fruity undertone you will be more successful in getting them to land on you. Please remember not to touch them as the oil from your fingers will be absorbed by their wings and then they will be unable to fly.

Thanks for the review I hope you enjoyed the other inhabitants of the Gardens as well.

Be prepared for the humidity and do not have a fear of things landing on you. Great for children, and a lot can be discovered.

You are correct it is hot and humid in the Jungle, just the way our creatures like it. It is always between 22 and 27 Celsius with 80% humidity every day. With winter still upon us it is a great way to get out of the cold and dreary and it into the warmth of the Jungle. We have hooks for you to hang your coats and sweaters on.

Thank you for visiting the Jungle and writing a review.
