Every time I visit for work I have to get a big bowl of the locally famous seafood chowder. This place has great food and service. Try out the $5 burger also. I can't wait to visit again. Check out the view of the marina while you enjoy your meal. T

We were treated well, extremely well. Service was excellent. The food was not that good and sat heavily in our stomachs.

The feature lobster lolipops sounded fun and tasty, but they turned out to be lobster corndogs, which was disappointing. Heavy corn batter, greasy and overshadowing the lobster. Too bad. Nice idea done in a way that didn't work.

Martinis are very good and this place is great to go for drinks, but maybe not for a meal.

In all fairness, my fried oysters were perfectly cooked and very tasty.

Maybe it is hit and miss, but most of the items we shared were miss. Too bad. Maybe they were having an off day.

Next door to the Ocean Front Suites. Nicer decor than most pubs but clearly a local favourite watering hole.

We had a late lunch at this pub enroute from Victoria to Port Alberni. We decided to explore the coast road to find a nice place to eat, and lucked out by finding the lovely village at Cowichan Bay. This pub looks a bit gloomy from the road - but it is right by the marina and has fabulous views. The decor is very nice, there are 2 pool tables and a great outdoor smoking balcony. There was brunch menu available til 4 pm! Worth the short drive off the main highway at Duncan!

This is an ideal place to relax with friends and enjoy the view of the fishing boats and entertaining sealions. We found this pub within the village of Cowichan Bay. We walked to it from our B& accommodation up the road.
The staff was very attentive and patient with us as we couldn't make up mind about what to choose. Beer on tap was the clear order but the food options were a difficult choice. we all decided to try the chowder which had been chosen as the best in their community Chowder contest. It was superb. We all decided to order different things and then we could taste each others but we were not disappointed. Everything was delicious.
Now this is a pub so TV and music created some challenges for us but we had so much fun, watching people, sealions and boats. We will be going back on our next trip. Thanks Bay Pub for a really fun evening.
