“Be prepared to wait”
Reviewed October 19, 2011

We recently went as a group of 6 for our first visit to this restaurant. It has a beautiful setting and the food was, overall, very good. We started with appetizers to share: the fried zucchini sticks and jalapeno cheese were done perfectly as were the mushroom caps with shrimp. A great start to the meal!

However, after the appetizers were eaten and the plates were cleared, we never saw our waitress again until dinner was served-almost an hour later. By that time our drinks had been drunk without an offer of another round. Even our water glasses had been drained and not refilled.

Everyone enjoyed their dinner: very tasty and great presentation all around. The group had a variety of dishes including wild salmon, veal, fish and chips and even a vegetarian meal so there is plenty of choice. One of the group had the lemon veal and did find the lemon taste to be a bit overwhelming-so be prepared, it is not a subtle taste. There were also some apparent 'timing' issues coming out of the kitchen as some of the food on certain plates was piping hot and, on the same plates, other food was almost cold.

The cost per person before taxes was about $35 but that includes appetizers, 2 half litres of wine, 1 beer, 1 cocktail, 2 desserts, 4 decaf coffees and 2 teas. Not an outrageous amount so you get good value for your money but you had better be prepared to wait for your meals.

“A pleasant surprise in an out-of the-way place!”
Reviewed September 24, 2011

We were on a course nearby and ate here on two nights, Our server was lovely. Although it was very busy on the last night, she managed to take care of everyone, even serving as bar-tender. Very pleasant and efficient. The food was great. My husband had steak and prawns one night and steak and local crab another and was not disappointed. The steak was tender and came medium-rare as requested. Not always the case in some venues!
Try the mussel appetizer - an interesting dish with curry and vegetables. Very fresh mussels - no doubt local. If you like mussela and curry it is not to be missed.
I had the French onion soup- (very authentic and delicious) and a wonderful chicken, artichoke and feta salad - one of the best I have had. The view is beautiful - looks out on the water. A real delight all-round.
NOTE: They are closed Sunday and Monday

“Outstanding”
Reviewed June 18, 2010

A truly great experience. The presentation is outstanding and the portions are large. My wife is vegan (for health reasons) and her dish was "the best ever" and not on the menu. The view is waterfront and the restaurant is quiet.

“Always a delightful way to spend New Years Eve”
Reviewed January 6, 2010

Again this year our friends and ourselves took the opportunity to relax and enjoy the last evening of the yearat Eagles Landing Bistro. I think we will make it an annual event as we have been so pleased with the menu and the food presented. We all had a lovely meal, great service provided by 2 friendly support staff and the owner being her usual busy self. I have to say that I could dine there much more frequently than I do as there is such a wonderful selection of entrees to choose from and everything I have tried has been suburb and I am very particular about how my food tastes and is presented. Keep up the good work Janis and staff.
