My husband and I drove by the Beacon B&B and decided to check it out as it looked like a well cared for home and was located across the street from the ocean.

We found the inside just as attractive as the exterior. The home was attractively furnished and very, very clean.

Roger and Shirley gave us friendly a friendly greeting, and showed us a really pleasant room with private bath. They we very helpful in telling us about the town and area, and what to see and where to eat. In the morning we were served a fabulous gourmet breakfast.

It was the best B&B experience we've ever had.

This is a fantastic B&B, a lovely home that is kept in immaculate condition with a marvelous ocean view. The breakfasts and home baked treats are outstanding! Shirley and Roger make you feel at home the minute you walk in the door. They are excellent host's and think of everthing to ensure that you have an enjoyable visit.(husband foregot his toothbrush and they had a spare ,husband also broke his reading glasses and they had a replacement!!)This is hard to beat...a real Powell River treasure!

I have stayed with Roger and Shirley many times and each time seems better than the last. Their home is warm and comfortable and they are marvelous hosts. Friendship and good conversation are a hallmark of a stay with these wonderful people and I wholeheartedly recommend a stay with them when in Powell River.

As an avid world traveler I have preferred, when possible, to stay at B&Bs rather than motels or hotels. My experiences with this form of accommodation have ranged from poor (Plymouth in Devon) to very good (Sydney, Australia).

By recent stay at the Beacon Bed and Breakfast in Powell River has given me a completely new perspective on excellence in both service and comfort.

Roger and Shirley, the hosts, do an outstanding job of caring for their guests. The breakfasts are a work of art, pleasing both to the eye and the taste buds. The rooms are comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The location with its view of the ocean and islands is stunning.

All this would merit a rating of “very good” but it is the meticulous care taken to provide the little details that make your stay such a pleasure and move the experience into the realms of "Exceptional."
