Owner description: The climax of a 16 km (10 mile) scenic highway known as the Akamina Parkway, is Cameron Lake. Nestled between the majestic mountain peaks of the Akamina Ridge, this sub-alpine lake is one of many serene bodies of water that makes up Waterton Lakes National Park. Beautiful Cameron lake is a great place to rent a canoe and grizzlies are often seen on the far slopes.

Nice little lake after a very steep road that was more fun to drive than the visit to the lake. Drove it twice just for fun!!

Lake very similar to Lake Louise and everyone from the local area was either snowshoeing or cross-country skiing the trails. But way to many people since it was the only area that you could really do anything in the area during New Years day!!

Might go back in the Summer but very unlikely since I have more hikes that I want to complete else where.

Most hikes and activities seem to be on the USA side anyways and we are planning our next trip in the summer there instead.

The lake is in a beautiful setting in the mountains, and it is easy to drive to from Waterton, so worth the visit. It isn't a place you would spend a great deal of time, didn't see much in the way of walking trails or such, so you can fit something else in your day.

As mountain parks go, Waterton Lakes is relatively small and easy to get around in. The drive from the townsite to Cameron Lake is relatively short and quite scenic with a number of hikes along the way. The vegetation around the lake is more lush than many other parts of the park, giving the area a different feel. There are several lovely hikes in the area and a canoe rental that gives you the opportunity to get up close and personal with the summer ice on the other side of the lake. Pack a lunch and make a day of it. You won't regret it.

If you are visiting Waterton between April and August, this is something you don't want to miss. Lovely hiking trail all around, and beautiful waters for kayaking.

The Cameron fall is very close to the waterton village and it is very nice fall. It is not one of the wonders but certainly worth a peek. It has benches near the fall where you can sit relax and watch the fall. We took subways with us and sat there and ate. Was like a picnic. The lake is further away but the roads were closed to it.
