Review of Cameron Lake

Cameron Lake

Owner description: The climax of a 16 km (10 mile) scenic highway known as the Akamina Parkway, is Cameron Lake. Nestled between the majestic mountain peaks of the Akamina Ridge, this sub-alpine lake is one of many serene bodies of water that makes up Waterton Lakes National Park. Beautiful Cameron lake is a great place to rent a canoe and grizzlies are often seen on the far slopes.

“Worth the drive.”

Beautiful spot for a picnic or hiking. Saw bears on the way. The water is crystal clear. There are paddle boats and canoes for rent.

“Solitude & Beauty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

This high-mountain lake is surrounded by pine forests on three sides and a snow-covered mountain on the West end. This is an area frequented by bears, moose and stellar jays. What a beautiful place to see the beauties of nature at their best!

“A Real Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

Whilst in Waterton we travelled to Cameron Lake. It was a little windy but very pretty. There is a small store selling post cards, ice cream and some other touristy bits. There are also canoes for hire to paddle round the lake.

Beautiful with nice hikes. You probably will see wildlife on the road. There are several waterfalls on the way too.

“Beautiful lake”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

Very quiet and attractive, far better than Lake Louise which everyone knows. Canoe hire available and toilet facilities. But no refreshments so take your own. Look out for bears on the road
