The drive to the canyon is interesting as the mountains meet the prairie. We saw several bears along the way. There is short hike up the canyon that connects to a little longer hike up to another falls. Both are easy and well worth the less than 2 miles of a hike.

We stopped by on our way to Tea at the Prince of Wales. The hike is quite short, but worth the time to get to the location. The water's course through the red rock exposes beautiful hues not seen in much of the Waterton/Glacier area. The flora along the canyon walls also adds a variety of color to the scene. Also, the drive up the canyon offered the opportunity to see seven black bears including a couple of cubs.

The colours, the history, the short walks and the clear mountain stream make this a worthwhile visit.

Red Rock Canyon is an easy stroll to see some lovely rock formations.
Hike a little further to Blakiston Falls and enjoy more beautiful scenery all along the way.

Nice place to visit. Walk around the canyon or dip your feet in the stream below. We took a shuttle from town and we could go at our own pace. Just get to the shuttle early for it can fill up fast.
