We took this boat ride during our free time traveling with a tour group. We were given several suggestions on what to do during this time, and unfortunately we picked the wrong option. Hiking would have provided us the same beautiful scenery while getting some exercise along the way. We waited on line over one hour just to buy tickets for the 4 o'clock tour. By the time we reached the ticket booth, the main boat was sold out but there was still room on a similar boat. The guide was good but there really wasn't all that much to see or hear about. Although the lake and mountains were beautiful, we've been on boat rides with much prettier scenery. The weather was beautiful so the afternoon was pleasant enough, but had it been bad weather, we would not have taken this tour. That might have been a good thing because we would have saved the expensive admission price.

We took the 10 a.m. cruise to Goat Haunt and enjoyed the beauty and Keith's interesting commentary. He's a native of the Wateron townsite and knows the real history, nature, scoop of the area. it was a beautiful day as we cruised the lake to Goat Haunt. Then we hiked to Koonaei (spelling?) Lake after showing our passports at customs. Yes, we passed from Alberta in to Montanna! A novelty hike! Fun. This cruise was worth the trip, all the way from Colorado. I highly recommend this company for a great outing, even for a round trip, without a hike. We returned on the 2:30 p.m. boat departure.

We, unfortunately, did not have a warm and sunny day for our trip shut it was still incredible. Didn't see a whole lot of wildlife but two bald eagles were spotted. We were extremely impressed with our guide Matthew. He was extremely knowledgable about all aspects of the trip. We did not do the hikes at the end but did walk along the shore to get the Ghost Haunt stamp on our passports!

We took this 2 and half hour tour leaving at 4 pm. The lines were quite long for the tickets and I had stand for about 1.5 hour in line to get the tickets. But the wait is worth as the scenic route of this boat is out of this world. Our tour guide Steve was the best guide, he knew the area like the back of his hand and told us so many tales and stories which were quite intriguing.
They cross the border into USA in the lake, and there is no passport check. You can get down at Goat Haunt and get your passport stamped if you want to at the US customs and immigration check point.
The ride back is also very nice. Try to find a place on the top deck and especially in the front as you can view the lake and mountains and also feel the fresh breeze.
Totally outstanding experience, and a must. They charge $ 42 roundtrip per adult but it is worth every penny.

It's a great way to see Waterton Lake especially on the top deck. We had a short stop at Goat Haunt and returned to Waterton. The commentary was interesting and informative too
