The room was pricey, but was old, small, and didn't have a fridge. The vertical blinds were broken in our room which let in too much light in the morning and was unsafe for our children since the broken parts had been just set in the window. The room needs some repairs to reflect the price! I was honestly disappointed & I'm not terribly picky.

The staff need to be more on the ball with stocking towels for the pool.

Part of our family went swimming and there was a swimming lesson taking place at the same time. One nasty lady came and gave my 4 year old crap for playing with a pool noodle that he found. It sucks to pay extra to stay at the hotel with a pool to find out that they also have swimming lessons there, which means there is hadly any room for hotel guests to swim. Pretty lame.

We will stay somewhere else next time!

We spent four nights here in early July and were a bit disappointed on arrival. The room was okay but nothing special for the money, a bit brown, quite dark and in need of a makeover. On the plus side, it's centrally located and has a decent pool. The bar and restaurant were also very pleasant. We ate in the bar a couple of times. The staff were friendly and there was a laid back atmosphere. On our final night we ate upstairs in the fancier place which has spectacular views and the food was lovely. It's a great base for some incredible hiking, don't miss Lake Bertha or Crypt Lake.

The rooms are located in two floor houses, where each floor has 4-5 rooms.

The top floor has the downside of a sloped roof and no elevator (only stairs) but upside of no upstairs neighbors, so depending on your circumstances (or the weight of your luggage!) one may be better than the other.

The rooms consist of a basic bedroom with 2 beds, which take most of the place, there is a simple air condition unit and a small terrace. The windows can be opened for some free air and has a net keeping insects out.

Parking is free, breakfast is not. There is a restaurant at the hotel, which amongst other things serves breakfast (pricy).

Waterton itself is quite small and fairly remote from everything else. So expect a lot of nature and outdoor activities but few services of any kind.

Also be fairly warned that in Canada the pricing for National Parks is pr. person pr. day (8-9$ CND pr. person pr. day) and not pr. vehicle pr. week as in the US (generally 25 US $).

This can become quite costly if you’re staying for longer periods of time and should be priced into your considerations.

Do not stay here. Large amount of money was stolen by the staff of the resort.
We stayed here 2 nights in July of 2012.
The managment was notified of what had happend and still charged full price on our credit card.
No discount was given.
Police are still investigating.
There are much better, safer and cheaper options in town.

We arrived late into Waterton, and being too tired to camp decided to try and find a hotel in a crowded resort town. Lack of success in the more reasonable accommodations led us to the Waterton Lakes Lodge. Although quite pricey, the room was very nice, if small, decorated in a woodsy style. There was a small jacuzzi tub ensuite, along with a comfortable queen bed and a truly ancient TV stuffed into a credenza for which it was clearly too big.

As we arrived late and left early, I cannot comment too much on this hotel except to caution that it is not cheap, and given the limited size of Waterton, I would not recommend bopping into town without reservations. You'll end up taking what you can get, and it'll cost ya!
