“Wedding Wonderland”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

We recently spent three nights at Beechenhill Farm for a friends wedding. We stayed in one of the B&B rooms and were very pleased with the standard of the room. The decor fit very well with the farm and everything was clean and comfortable. Tea and Coffee making facilities are provided within your room and as Beechenhill is a working farm you just need to ask for milk when you need it and they provide you with fresh milk from their cows. I think I put on half a stone during my stay as the breakfast was amazing. I could have eaten the poridge until I burst as it was so creamy and tasty but made sure I kept some space for the vast amount of bacon, eggs, sausage etc etc that followed.

Our friends had their wedding breakfast and evening do in the barn which was a fab venue and we all had the most amazing time. The barn is a lovely space and a great place to host such an event.

The evening after the wedding a group of 6 of us hired out the hot tub for £75. We spent the evening drinking champagne and looking at the unspoilt views and the beautiful night sky - it was perfect. It really was an amazing, relaxing evening and I would recommend it to anyone staying at Beechenhill.

This is a family run business and all the family made us feel very welcome and were always happy to help. They have two beautiful dogs on the farm including a little cross bread Jack Russell who has endelss energy and it's hard to get bored of throwing the ball for her to catch.

This place is a real gem and is worth consdiering for a venue, a romantic getaway or a group vacation. Beechenhill can cater for any eventuality and they do so very well.

Room Tip: All the room options are a high standard.

We celebrated our wedding here in June, and everything was wonderful! We were made so welcome for the whole weekend, the place looked beautiful, the hot tub on the Friday evening (in the rain!) was very welcome after hours of barn decorating, accommodation was very cosy, breakfast on the Sunday was great! Hattie the dog gave us hours of entertainment, and a calf was born while we were eating dinner after the ceremony - all our guests spent a long time outside cheering it on as it tried to stand up! We enjoyed playing swingball in the garden while all dressed up, and after all our guests had departed we explored Dovedale and ate lots of ice cream. Thank you so much to everyone at Beechenhill for a great weekend!

We stayed at Beechenhill nearly 40 years ago, when it was in the care of different owners. It was our favorite getaway spot, and it remains our favorite. Terry, Sue, Alex and Rob welcome you into their family before, during and after your stay. It is a working farm, with footpaths all around, both within the farm itself and over to Dove Dale. The food at breakfast is exceptional (NB the porridge!) and the bedding is scrumptious. The setting is about as tranquil as one could imagine. And then there is Hattie the dog.....amazing.

Spectacularly beautiful location on the Southern edge of the Peaks. We felt immediately welcome and the private and cosy Beechenhill Cottage very quickly became a home from home.

The chickens were quiet, the cat kept a low profile, the cows had the decency to only start mooing at a reasonable hour and the dog (Hattie) is fantastic fun. We loved the way she was very specific about who she wanted to throw the ball (by dropping it at their feet). :)

Big thanks to Sue for sorting us out with food on the last night when we hadn't planned properly! Delicious food, too.

One criticism - and I'm ///really/// nitpicking now... Please make the sign at the end of the drive a bit more obvious! :)

We are all (including Hatty) really glad that you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for your helpful suggestion about our sign- we have already experimented with carefully picking out the carved stone letters with white paint, and it looks brilliant! So thank you!

Stunning setting, run how a B&B should be by wonderful, friendly, accommodating hosts. Cosy, spotless rooms with facilities one wouldn't usually expect of a B&B like an iPod dock on the clock radio, a hot tub and cave at the bottom of the garden, and expert advice on local eateries! Plus excellent, home grown or locally sourced and often organic food including organic milk from the cows on the farm!
We're keen to return, perhaps with the children next time in one of the self catering 'apartments' also available on the farm.

My son and his fiance used Beechenhill as their wedding venue very recently. If you are looking for an environmentally friendly wedding venue with a difference then give Sue the owner a call. She will guide and advise to make sure you have the perfect day. Nothing is too much trouble and she rolls up her sleeves on the day to ensure everything runs smoothly. The location, the wedding barn and the accommodation on site make it an intimate special locationn. We stayed in accommodation just half a mile down the road and the other guests were able to stay locally. Absolutely faultless customer service all the guests were impressed and it really was a different experience to the usual wedding venues. Highly recommend it.

Outstanding. We were lucky enough to hold our wedding at Beechenhill Farm and had the privilege of being their guests from 20th to 23rd April 2012.

Having spent over a year planning our wedding, our expectations for the weekend were high, but they were all surpassed and our guests were equally impressed by the intimate and distinctive venue set in such a stunning location. Sue, her family and all their staff were accommodating, highly professional and charming throughout and we couldn’t thank them enough for making our very special weekend unforgettable.

Many of our guests, including the Bride and Groom, stayed in the charming and delightful cottages adjacent to the wedding venue, where we received a warm welcome amidst the tranquil surroundings. With a sound environmental ethos, superb accommodation ..... not to mention great beer, this is a great and unique place to stay, be it for a wedding or just a well earned peaceful weekend away.

You couldn’t ask for more at Beechenhill Farm and we’ll be back again, no question. Simply sublime. Thank you Beechenhill. Jamie & Rachel x
