We came here for a family christmas lunch on a mid-December sunday. It was quite quiet with only one or two other parties there. The service was excellent both at the bar and with a very informative and friendly waitress. It has a cosy atmosphere, the decor is great, very old English pub with an interesting twist...we were seated at a table hanging from the ceiling on large chains next to a lovely open fire. Beside us a table was mounted upside down to make a chandelier! They had also certainly gone to town with the christmas decorations, it felt like a santa's grotto! We were 3 vegetarians, 1 vegan and 2 two meat eaters and all thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. We had a delicious vegetable wellington, a couple of tasty veggie 'bubble and squeak' dishes, a wild mushroom stroganoff, a spicy dhansak and a belly of pork. The food was hot, tasty and good size portions. Wish we'd had room for dessert. Wouldn't hesistate to come here again, looking forward to visit in the new year! Thoroughly recommended!
