We had an exemplary meal at Le Puits du Tresor as a treat to ourselves at the end of our stay in the area. Having been slightly disappointed by a Michelin 2* restaurant in the area, we were absolutely blown away by the quality and simplicity of the food here. We had the 5 course option, paired with the wine flight. The restaurant manager who served us was absolutely charming and spoke impeccable English, talking us through the dishes as they arrived (he gave us the option to hear the menu in advance but we preferred to be surprised). Every dish was a perfect realisation of the ingredients that went in to it. The menu changes every day in accordance with the freshest and most delicious ingredients that the head chef has found that day. It is these ingredients that are the stars of the show, with a stunning rich lobster dish being our favourite. The chef doesn't try to be too clever, or fool you with elaborate presentation or conceptual dishes - this is just immaculate cooking and beautiful flavours, which is often far more difficult to do. I would highly recommend taking the wine flight as it doesn't work out any more expensive than a nice bottle but you get to try some fantastic local wines. There is one white that we are still tracking down to buy from home! The chef came out into the restaurant at the end and was charming and hilarious - his kindness made the evening for us. When we are next in the area we will go back as soon as possible.
