“What more could one want?”
Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

Stayed for one night on way to Spain from Cherbourg. Great food and company. Lovely room and location. Great value. Very relaxing after a long drive. Will definitely use La Presbytere again next year for our stopover. Many thanks to Sile and Martin. What more could one want?

Stayed with Martin and Sile for 4 nights. Hospitality was fantastic, felt really at home. We ate with them on 2 occasions, brilliant meal, great Craic. They even took us along to the grande ball in the village on the 13 th July.
Lovely people, WE WILL BE BACK!!

Room Tip: Sorry about fitness suite and pool obviously there isn't one but can't remove star rating

stayed overnight en route to Mougins & loved it so much we booked to stay again on our return. Such warm Irish hospitality made us feel welcome the moment we arrived - the food is wonderful, the wine plentiful & local, the beds were very comfortable & one of the best breakfasts we have had in France. We will be sure to return & recommend to everyone - a little gem, not to be missed.

Room Tip: all rooms are comfortable, but we liked the view from the rear bedroom.

We stayed with Martin & Sile Dwyer for a few days. We had a wonderful time with fabulous food each evening. The hospitality and kindness we received was superb. They gave us so much of their time , a rare and wonderful experience. Ideal location for touring south of France and its many wine regions. Can't wait to go back for more pampering.

Martin and Síle are the most incredible hosts offering a "home from home". We felt so comfortable and relaxed and like we were visiting family rather than staying in a guesthouse! Our children (aged 8 and 5) certainly felt the same way. When we were up in our room, they were happy to go downstairs on their own and play with the Lego that Síle had provided and just enjoy being in such a friendly place. The food and drink was incredible but it was the good company with our hosts and the other guests that will remain the highlight of our stay. We just wish we could have stayed for longer and we hope to return before too long! Thanks Martin and Síle!

Never, in all of our travels, have we been so warmly welcomed as we were by Martin and Sile upon on arrival at Le Presbytere. Arriving on a very cold and rainy afternoon in March, their offer of a hot drink and an invitation to join them around the fire felt like something from a storybook. We were the weary travelers arriving at a wonderful refuge.

Their historic old house has been thoughtfully restored yet maintains its traditional French country appeal. The guest rooms are charming, the beds are comfortable, and most importantly given the weather, our room was warm and cozy, with a lovely view across the village that stretched for miles.

And then there was the food...so carefully planned and prepared and served as if you've been invited to dinner with old friends. Martin is excited to cook for his guests and his passion comes through in the food. Everything from the roasted lamb and local carrots at dinner to the homemade bread and jams at breakfast is delicious. Conversation flows easily, and you think how fortunate you are to be part of this dinner party. Martin and Sile are excellent hosts, anxious to share their local knowledge, suggest sights to see even in the rain, and do anything they can to make your visit memorable.

It is a truly unique experience to stay in this marvellous Hiberno-French B&B with superb table d'hote, kindly and knowledgable hosts, and carefully furnished elegant bedrooms with thoughtful touches such as excellent reading lights, fluffy towels, and super-comfortable beds. Martin and Sile are a rare couple who really make one feel totally at home, and treat one like family rather than paying guests. They have restored this marvellous old presbytery with wonderful taste, and the food that Martin prepares with love and attention is quite superb. Cannot recommend it highly enough!
