As part of our 20th wedding anniversary trip to Southern Italy, my husband and I wanted to do a cooking and winery tour but didn't know where to go. A friend of ours put us in touch with Laura Faust from Ciao Laura tours. She suggested the Terre del Principe and so we went. It was fantastic!!! Manuela and Pepe, the owners, not knowing that I spoke Italian fluently, had recruited one of their English-speaking friends to translate for us. Well, it was a day-long party. Our hosts were so warm that we felt we had known each other for years! We began by cooking lunch together...absolutely delicious and a lot of fun. Then we went to see the vineyards and were explained the different methods of planting grapes and how they are tended. Then we had a tour of the winery and saw exactly how every type of wine was made and why they tasted so different from each other. After this, we ate the lunch we had cooked previously and drank some of the best wines we had ever tasted. Pepe then made us a Napolitan coffee and we sat out on the veranda talking and laughing.
This day was one of the highlights of our trip and we strongly recommend Terre del Principe for all the foodies and oenophiles out there. We also recommend it to anyone looking for a great time with truly wonderful, genuine people.
Grazie Manuela e Pepe per il vostro caldo accoglio e gentilezza...e non parliamo del vino!!!
