We booked this restaurant as a change as we have always wanted to try it. We were not disappointed. We arrived at 7pm as we needed an early booking but there were still a few people in eating already; by 9pm it was starting to get absolutely heaving! I The music was Spanish and really set the scene, but by 9pm with the noise you couldn't actually hear the music. Maybe it could be turned up a little bit when it gets busy ;-)..The decor was perfect all bright and cheerful with yellow/red tiles and a lovely bar area, transporting you to Spain instantly. The tables and chairs were really comfortable and as a part of a pair we were not squished into a corner we were put on a 4 seated table by the window which gave us plenty of room. The staff were great and they could not do enough for us but not overdone. We ordered 3 Tapas each and they suggested to bring them in batches ie: Starter and Main, this was a great idea as 1) it made the meal last longer and 2) you could appreciate each dish separately hot!
The prices were just under £5 for each Tapas which we thought for the portion sizes and the quality of the food was about right.
We ordered a couple of fish courses, chorizo and vegetable courses. I have to say the syle and presentation was really nice, and the portions were massive! I think next time we will have 5 tapas between the 2 of us though as we needed to ask for a doggy bag to take home. The food was delicious, the only critisism if we could think of any was the skewered fish and prawn tapas, the white fish was a bit chewy with bones in so we think it was a bit overcooked.
I had a dessert- homemade Profiteroles and hot chocolate. I wasn't too keen on this and I love profiteroles. They could have done with some cream with them and I didn't like to ask. The pastry was a bit thick and the chocolate not sweet enough. Maybe it is just a different style as in a Spanish Profiterole? Coffee was authentic and really nice.
Apart from the two very small things I mentioned above everything else was absolutely delicious.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a Spanish experience as you will absolutely achieve this here.
We wil be visiting again soon!
