Good all round pub and restaurant with a good choice of menu. Average prices. There is better pricing if you go before 5pm.

Its sad how these good old pubs try to be restaurants! The food may be good but sometimes you just want a cheap and cheerful pub chow! Also the service here for a restaurant is appalling! We ordered a flat bread and a garlic bread and it took 1 hour to come as they forgot about us.. To be fair the Manager refunded our money so we have been back and tried again, Ordered Steak which was lovely but the girl dumped it on our table and disappeared so we had to get up and go and find our own cutlery - Even Wetherspoons brings you cutlery! I just just think the service is very poor in comparison to the standard of food!

Had a fantastic meal here whilst staying at the travelodge next door. Okay it was mid afternoon so it was quiet. We sat down and was greeted by the friendly barman. It was nice to see that he took our order without writing it down. The food arrived promptly and was piping hot. Each course wasn't rushed and it was very pleasant. A 3 course meal for 2 for £17.90 from a set menu I thought was good value.

Found this place by accident at the end of a long day and were pleasantly surprised – Fairly 'by the numbers' family friendly pub food offering a wide menu, but lovely and clean, friendly staff and very tasty food at a reasonable price – Heartily recommend the Pork Belly, certainly the best I've ever had the pleasure of!

I stayed next door in the Travel Lodge for this last week. This pub is attached and has good car parking at the rear. I have ate 4 times in this place and had a different thing every night. Very well priced and varied menus. As an ale pub they broadcast the offer to try before you buy :) this saves supping a pint you are not really enjoying. The bar can be poorly staffed at times but with the recent hot weather maybe staffing is not easily adjusted. The waitresses/waiters are a bit slow and have forgot how to smile which is a shame. However if you are staying or just passing you will be hard pressed not to find something from the menus you like and enjoy !
