Not sure if it's the loveliness of each and every staff person (christopher at front desk, Ellen pro-shop, hostess in restaurant and every server) sublime repasts served in either of the two restaurants or the incredible contemporary vibe that makes Cabot Links a truly fabulous place to stay! Every room has floor to ceiling windows with aaaaaammmmmazing western seaside/links views! The rooms are fresh, bright and airy. The hardware in the bathroom is even gorgeous! We loved having the commode and shower/ double sink area separated into 2 rooms. Showering in such a huge shower replete with a rain shower head was so relaxing. The lighting is fantastic, linens first rate too. The only drawback to our experience is that it is a shame that the windows don't open...a nighttime ocean breeze is priceless. Also, only a few of the rooms have balconies and even theses rooms only have a door that opens.
Even if you don't intend to play golf...or even if you don't like golf, you should stay here!
Be sure to check out the pro-shop! The selection is among the best I have seen at any resort in Canada or the USA!
Dinner...worth every penny! Divine! Lobster ravioli, fish chowder- mmmmmmm!

Our stay at Cabot Links was the perfect ending to a memorable Cape Breton vacation. The friendly service, delicious food and gorgeous modern design exceeded all expectations. Highlights included the jaw dropping views from our room, the decadent lobster ravioli and blueberry cobbler i'm still dreaming about, the blinged out bathrooms with my fave l'occitane products, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! I cannot wait to come back!!

The entire experience at this golfer's paradise was incredible! We stayed for two nights at the hotel in a beautiful room over looking the golf course and sea. The resort is the highest level of service, quality and views on Cape Breton and maybe all of Nova Scotia.

Dinner:

Our dinner consisted of a delicious mussles to start and flank steak, lobster (what else?!) ravioli, which were all made of the freshest ingredients and prepared perfectly. While eating dinner we saw a spectacular sunset (its amazing how fast the sun sets just before dusk - the sun moved the width of the sun in approximately 5 minutes).

Golf:

In the spirit of a true links course this is right on the ocean where high winds prevail, fescue is thick as hell and you never find a flat lie. I'd say this was one of the most beautiful courses I've ever played, unequivocally. There is even one hole that abuts a small in-land harbour. By next year I predict this course will rank in the top twenty in Canada in Golf Magazine.

Hotel:

ALL of the rooms look over the course and sea, which is the star of the show. The hotel is designed to be minimalist from the outside so that it blends in with the dunes and fescue that surrounds it. Our room was beautifully appointed with the highest end finishings and a very comfortable bed.

The entire resort is perfect for a high end corporate retreat or a romantic golf getaway (which was what we did). Enjoy Cabot Links as soon as possible. It'll soon be impossible to get a room or get a tee off time!
