abysmal and slow service - their interpretation of Caesar salad, by the way, is two lettuce leaves and a pile of cheese and mayonnaise - you would think an airport restaurant would be prompt and attentive but you almost have to trip these waiters as they walk past to get them to stop - if you pay with a credit card, you'll have to walk up to the waiter station

I can't tell you anything about the cafe/restaurant, because there was no service at all. We waited for about 10 minutes and none of the waiters had time to take our order, even though they saw us sitting and gesturing. I guess we were in no-ones service area. Go to Bubbles! Much better!

Café-style restaurant handy especially for D gates at Schiphol. Staff are well used to getting patrons in and out in 30 minutes and the menu is necessarily limited to allow the kitchen the best chance of achieving that objective. The lamb burger was well presented and the chips were tasty and well-prepared. Somewhat expensive - but they have a captive market!

After a long day of travelling we were ready to find a place to have some dinner when we transited through Amsterdam. Amsterdam airport quite a few choices when it comes to eateries, and we have tried the food court among other places (food court was not the best but ok).. However this time through, we found Het Palais.. Looks like a very classical old fashion Pub, but with big screen tv's. The meny was not extensive, but adequate.. And, although a little pricey, it was good value for an airport.. The food was really delicious ( I still savour the memory of the perch with lime sauce..Yummy), and served with a smile. The waiters and cooks work hard, and you get your food pretty quickly, so it is also great for those that do not have too much time..

Would definitely recommend a visit.. However, it is busy, so you might be lucky to find a free table...

I did not have the lamb like a previous reviewer but the chicken satay was lifeless with a very salty satay sauce. I also did not appreciate that it has one of the airport's smoking areas, an ambiance I would prefer not to have with food. The service however was very professional and friendly and the place had a buzz.
