Very nice hotel with free shuttle service to/from the airport every 30 minutes. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms and lobby were immaculate. The beds were a little too soft, but still very comfortable. They offer wifi in the rooms free of charge. It is quite far from the centre of Amsterdam though (you need to catch the shuttle back to the airport, then a train from the airport to central station), so if you’re hoping to see all the tourist spots you should have a vehicle. The hotel is also quite remote - when we were heading back to the hotel late one night, the taxi driver couldn’t find it on his GPS and we had to call the hotel to get directions.

The hotel was booked as part of the Mysteryland festival sleepover package at quite a hefty price. We were supposed to receive transportation to and from the festival, but were not informed there was only a 1:30pm bus there (luckily we made it) and were told there was only one bus going back at 11:30pm which never showed up, leaving us stranded. I would not recommend the Mysteryland package, but I would recommend the hotel if you don’t mind a very long journey into Amsterdam.

The Dorint is a great hotel with a helpfull staff. Located on the eastern part of Schiphol Airport where you will only find office buildings. It's a 10 minute drive by (free) airport shuttle to the airport itself. Overall, it will take you 45 minutes to travel to the center of Amsterdam by public transport.

About the hotel itself: it's just perfect. Clean modern rooms and bathrooms, big beds. Inside the hotel you will find a spa, restaurant and a bar/café with a nice terrace.

+ Clean and modern hotel
+ A lot of facilities, such as spa, bar and restaurant
+ Nice and friendly staff that speaks English
+ Free airport shuttle every 30 minutes

- Approx 45 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station
- No sightseeing in the area, you'll only find office buildings

We stayed here with friends from the U.S. and found it an Excellent experience.
Rooms offer a very nice decor, they are spacious and impeccable clean. Beds are Zzzzzzz....
We started off with mountainbiking in the nearby forrest (bikes from the hotel),
visiting a goat farm and a pancake restaurant (nice for the children).
Easy connection to Amsterdam city center by shuttle bus and a short train ride.
Easy access to highway for our daytrip to the windmills.Hotel car available for a small rental.
Breakfast buffet very extensive with plenty of healthy offerings. Also lunch and dinner offering good value. We loved the staff, very attentive, making us feel at home!

Room Tip: Rooms at the end of the corrider offer a nice view off the Amsterdam forrest

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here in as many years. Although this is a hotel situated close to the airport rather than in the city of Amsterdam we just love staying here. There is a free hotel shuttle service that runs between the hotel and the airport that run every 30 mins (for most of the day) and take 10 mins. Trains run every 15 mins or so to / from the airport to central station in Amsterdam and generally took under 15 mins to get you there. From leaving the hotel we were in Amsterdam in about 40-45 mins. So don't let the location put you off in any way. For the money you are getting a far better hotel room and service than in the city as well as a peaceful nights sleep.

We got a great deal by securing a voucher via the ebay auctions the hotel lists. Make sure you take the upgrade to an executive room if offered as for a nominal increase you get a better room and free use of the mini bar which is well stocked with snacks, beers, wine, soft drinks, water and fruit juices.

The breakfast is excellent and was included in our voucher deal. The hotel itself is very new and modern and beats many a 5 star establishment in our opinion. Both times we have used the hotel we have caughed early flights from the UK to make the most of the weekend and have been able to check in very early in the day (9.30 am).

Room Tip: If staying at a weekend ensure they have availability first then bag a voucher off ebay and ask about exec upgrades

Visited using and ebay voucher, we found check-in long-winded and not too helpful. However, from there on in it was excellent quality and service throughout.
Parking around the hotel is free at weekends - useful as the garage parking is expensive.
