Have stayed here several nights coming and going on Haida Gwaii and plan to return on our next trip. A gracious host/hostess is one of the most important ways to make a trip away from home a happy one. Nancy is warm, friendly, extremely helpful, and makes you feel welcome. The rooms are quite spartan but adequate and very clean. One doesn't go to Haida Gwaii for 5 star hotels, spas, etc. The huge lawn and chairs next to the beach make this place special. It's also away from roads and car noises and is generally very quiet. Nancy will find you (usually outside) at 8:00 and bring you a tray of breakfast (something like a nice fresh muffin, fruit and coffee).

Room Tip: 3 tiny rooms upstairs each look out over the water - very tiny, but we liked sitting on the veranda

We are staying at the Lodge as one couple in a room and a family of five in the three room apartment. Everything is clean and well kept. Nancy our host is flexible and gracious. The beach is outstanding with lots to walk to when the tide moves around. Breakfast is a simple fruit and bread affair with coffee or tea. Enough to get you moving. We are here for about a week in August. Highly recommend. Nancy has her potters studio on the property and teapots with breakfast provide a whimsical start to the day

We stayed two nights coming in and later in the week as we were leaving. I can't imagine a better view to wake up to. Granted, we had beautiful weather, but the sunrise was stunning and the beach is right there for a great walk. Both rooms are adequate and no-frills, but clean. The kitchenette lacked some essentials so bring your own knives etc. if you're picky. I'm sure the owners would help if you needed something specific. Breakfast was simple but fresh and brought to your room, and served on house-made ceramics which are beautiful... and for sale if you want some locally made mementos. Wi-fi and cable TV let us junk out after a week in the bush. Very helpful and unobtrusive staff, would return, easily. In sum: the view, the view, the view!

The folks here at Spruce Point are great. Friendly, personable, and helpful. The lodge itself can't be beat, the location on the point is gorgeous. Who doesn't love waking up to the sound of lapping ocean waves? Highly recommended!

We stayed one night in Spruce Point Lodge in early August, we were on the lower level in the middle room and although the beds were comfortable and the room was clean it was very small. You had to step up into the bath as it was on a raised platform so not good for anyone with mobility issues. The breakfast was adequate but nothing fancy.

We found it odd that althought there were 3 rooms on the lower level, there was a shortage of chairs to sit out and only 1 large and 1 smaller table. The patio opens onto a good view but is so small that sitting at the larger tabel would put you in front of someone else's room
