“Stunningly Beautiful Location. Very well maintained.”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We were a group of 4 adults (two couples). We were originally booked into a very compact beach front cottage although the reservation agent did try to talk us into a larger one.
When we arrived we could see why and fortunately were able to change to a bigger beachfront cottage. The small one would be suitable for a couple or a family with 1 or 2 children.
We were absolutely delighted with the cottage we rented. The decor was lovely and suitable to the location. The beds were very comfortable and the couple sleeping upstairs found that there was opportunity for through ventilation thanks to well screened window at each end of the loft room. There was even a fan upstairs as well as a nightlight to prevent stumbling in the dark.
Each cottage has a full kitchen, a well designed bathroom with a tub as well as a lovely deck with a propane BBQ and a wood picnic table as well as a couple of comfortable resin chairs.
We were impressed with how well the resort was maintained. There was a tennis court, a half sport court as well as a lovely jacuzzi set among the tall Douglas Fir and Cedar trees.
The Marina itself was well kept with several high end yachts and sailboats moored there.
We enjoyed swimming from the dock and also took advantage of the kayak tours offered by the Quadra Island Kayaks next door who also used the Marina.
We found to our delight that there was a full service grocery store complete with liquor outlet and post office just 300 meters away.
We used the location as a starting point for visiting Rebecca Spit provincial park and also many hikes. We will be back!

I'm pleased we were able to accommodate your group to the other cabin and very glad it met your expectations. You are right, the Intimate Beachfront Cabin is better suited to a couple or a family with 1 - 2 children. Some of our guests get stuck on the resort with all the on-site activities you listed and it's great you were able to explore all Quadra has to offer.

Thank you for taking the time to write the wonderful review. We look forward to seeing your group again.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Wong

Sixteen of us gathered to catch up on the more than 50 years since we graduated. We spent three nights in the Terrace Suites, which are very well-equipped and beautifully decorated - including original art. The resort is well located so we were able to enjoy the attractions of Quadra Island: craft studios, the Museum at Cape Mudge, and wonderful hiking trails, to name a few. A well-stocked grocery and wine store is a 5- minute walk away. There are excellent facilities for producing group meals. As a returning British Columbian, I especially enjoyed the log-strewn beaches, inter-tidal life and flotsam, distant views of forested hills and closer up, of beautiful Rebecca Spit. It would be good to do this again!

Dear Guest

We spent three nights here in June in one of the Terrace rooms. The suite was spacious and clean with a nice view of the ocean through the trees. The best thing about Taku is the location. It's sheltered by Rebecca Spit and a great starting point for exploration by kayak. It's a great place to get together with friends.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Terrace suite which was nice and good value. The Beach House suites look beautiful, b...

To BCTraveller2020
Thank you for coming this past June and taking the time to write a review.
We're happy you could make the Terrace suite your home for a few days. It's great to be able to explore Quadra by boat as there are so many nice bays to poke your head in to. We do like to keep our service at high quality but do try to give guests space to immerse themselves in the beauty of Quadra.
See you again soon.

Our hiking group has visited Taku for a long weekend each year for the last 6 years or so.It is close to Heriot Bay. View over Drew Harbour to Rebecca Spit is glorious with Cortez Island and Coastal Mountains of the mainland in the distance. This is a glorious spot with waterfront fully equipped cabins. Plenty of very good demanding hikes and less demanding walks. Kayaking , canoeing and bikke rentals available.

Hi Andrew
It's been fantastic to have your hiking group up for the past six years. The month of June is getting more popular as others have realized how the weather doesn't affect how much there's to do on Quadra. As you mentioned, the views are also spectacular, we are lucky to call this our office.
We look forward to your group's next visit and we appreciate the review you posted.
Thank you,
Elizabeth Wong

Taku Resort has been a favourite spot for our family for the past 13 years. As soon as you drive onto Quadra Island you can feel the calm serenity that awaits you. From the Taku dock, the beautiful view of Drew Harbour and Rebecca Spit are pure Canadian paradise at its best. Whether we're there with family or friends, there's always another adventure waiting for the next time we visit. Play tennis, shoot hoops, beachcomb or check out the artists studios around the island. You may even see some deer on the property, Harbour Seals bathing on the dock or if you're lucky, dolphins swimming in the ocean. One of our favourite past times is feeding the Bald Eagles nesting in the nearby islands. These are just a few of the things we've experiences while vacationing at Taku Resort. If you're looking for a place to unwind, this is definitely IT!!

Room Tip: The large and spacious Beach House (Upper or Lower) has the BEST view.

Hello dbst09
We've equally enjoyed getting to know your family from babies to Grand Parents. Thank you for your patronage over the past 13 years. You have definitely been one of our most loyal guests coming more than once a year at times. It is spot prawn season now, maybe we will see you soon...

We stayed in a Cabin on the beach for 4 nights. Wish we could of stayed much longer. The check in was easy and relaxed and our time there was very well enjoyed. The cabin was located right on the water and was so relaxing and peaceful. We enjoyed hiking up the beach and our daughter loved to play on the kids fort. Cant wait to return again. :))

Room Tip: The beachfront cabins are worth the extra $$

Great to hear from you bettyburns.

Many share your same thoughts on how perfect the Beachfront Cabins are, they are our most popular especially with young families like yours. It's precious to see kids exploring the beach and know they are safe.

Thank you for the fantastic review and the perfect marks across the board! The staff were delighted to hear about it. We hope to see you again as well.

I spent two weeks in cabin 5 over Christmas and it was nothing short of magical.
The cabin was warm, well stocked and had all the comforts you would want while maintaining the feel of getting away from it all.
We had a big bonfire down on the rocks during low tide that was amazing and followed it up with a soak in the fantastic hot tub above.
I have also stayed in the same cabin alone for a week long writing retreat. Again the experience was amazing.
Quadra has enough amenities and activities to keep anyone comfortable and busy or if you choose so, simply enjoy some lazy days lounging around.
I highly recommend a paddle or take advantage of a hot yoga class.

Room Tip: The Cabins are amazing.

Hello Richard,

Your winter sunrise photo is stunning! Taku and Quadra certainly have a lot to offer that time of year and the peacefulness is very magical with the crisp air and snow capped mountains in the distance. Thank you for your winter time review. We're so glad you had another great experience.
