This 5star b&b is in the most beautiful place, looking out over hill and dale. The 2 suites are very generously sized with everything you could need there including a sherry decanter. The hosts Andy and Jane cannot do enough for you. Breakfast was a meal that lasted the day and lots of choice. We will be going back again and it seems looking thru the comments book, they have lots of return business - that must say a lot.

We have just had the most delightful stay at Ackroyd house. The accommodation, food and hosts are first class. The room was magnificent with every luxury considered. The choice of menu for breakfast was extensive and delicious. The hosts were warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was set in beautiful and well kept gardens that you are encouraged to enjoy and relax in, overlooking wonderful scenic views. The welcome pack was comprehensive and gave lots of suggestions about local walks, places of interest and places to eat. Our evening meal was taken at the local pub, Rose and Crown, less than 10 minutes walk away and was excellent. We would have no reservations to recommend this to all ages and families alike.

Room Tip: The Valley Suite is upstairs and has wonderful views.

All the previous reviews have said it all. From a lovely welcome, a superb room (the Stable Suite in our case), fantastic breakfasts, the situation is superb with terrific views, Jayne and Andrew offer a five star plus B&B at Ackroyd House. If you are in the Holmefirth area and don't stay here you really are missing a treat. We WILL be returning. Michael and Coral.

My wife and I, together with our three-year-old daughter, stayed for two nights in the Stable Suite and had a wonderful time. Very comfortable and clean, with an outstanding breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome and my daughter really enjoyed running around the garden and throwing the ball for Snoop the dog. Outstanding views over the valley, and very quiet at night. We all had a very good night's sleep. Highly recommended.

Stayed for 2 nights in the Valley View room and the view from our room was stunning and so was the room itself. The garden was beautiful which there dog Snoop seemed always full of energy running around in having fun. Andrew & Jayne were really friendly, always happy to help and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast myself and wife both agreed was outstanding. Would definitely go back in the future.

From the moment we arrived at Ackroyd House we were very impressed with everything. The rooms were wonderful, spotless, large and lots of little extras. The views were lovely and the garden beautiful. The breakfast was unbelievable, nothing was too much trouble for Jayne. This really was the best B&B we have stayed in, they deserved a 6 star rating (if it was possible). I have recommend it to my sisters and the are going to book it, I really don't think any one could fault anything about the place. Can't wait to go back. Marian and Ian

We have stayed with Jayne and Andrew for several years now. We come for the Shepley Spring Folk Festival each year, but to be honest, if the Festival wasn't on, we'd have to invent an excuse to come back. We stay in the ground-floor Stable room, as my husband is disabled. There is a walk-in shower, but not completely level access. Although there are no grab rails, they have now got a portable, which improves access. Like other guests, we run out of superlatives: beautiful location, lovely views (although I wouldn't like to drive up there when it's icy!), gorgeous room, fabulous bed, mouthwatering and waistband-expanding breakfasts. But best of all, Jayne and Andrew, who are quite simply lovely people, and they will welcome you into their home like a treasured friend. So will Snoops if you throw the ball for her.
