You can't help but be charmed by the patio as you enter this historic building made of Kingston limestone. And the view of Lake on the Mountain is wonderful too. We like to sit outside or in the bar side of the restaurant. So lots of pluses for ambiance.
Then there is the owner and staff -- friendly, welcoming - engage with them and you feel you are among friends.
The food can be inventive and really wonderful. The chef uses fresh ingredients, often grown in the side garden. They have there own wines and a good selection of County wines and wines from away. There are some mainstays that are especially good, such as the lamb shank and the chicken dishes. The gumbo is tasty but generally overcooked. All in all, we find it a most enjoyable place to go with lots of comforts.
