We have enjoyed meals in this venue for a number of years but this was our first visit since the restaurant changed hands ... and it won't be our last! With friends who had enjoyed a lunch here recently, we arrived for an early dinner before heading out to see a play at Mount Tabor. Because of our timing, the restaurant wasn't crowded and we enjoyed prompt and friendly service. We were seated in the window area where we glimpsed, with amusement, the tourist traffic - pedestrian and vehicular. It was vintage vehicle night at Canadian Tire so there was a parade of highly polished cars driving along Main Street.
Our excellent server told us about the prix fixe meals -- 3 courses for $29. For the entrée, the men chose the prime rib and the women chose the grouper prepared with with a wine bruschetta sauce.
We were all pleased with our choices, as well as with our appetizers and desserts. And the bread was warmed...
We had a coupon for an entrée from one of the Rotary fund raiser booklets and we were pleasantly surprised that we were given credit for a complete meal. With a couple or glasses of wine and a couple of beers among the group, the bill was reasonable. But reasonable doesn't matter if the food is not good. At Beck and Call we enjoyed both good food and good value.
